Solutions to racial relations in the United States. - Is it possible? Will things get better or worse from here on out?

The current political climate in the USA is very......interesting right now. We have a deep divide that is either getting deeper, or the moderates are just hiding away in fear of the growing insanity. Either way even the most optimistic people I interact with are saying things are starting to look bleak right now.

Race relations are also at their worst since the Civil Rights Movement, but I personally believe they aren't as bad yet. We don't have 14 year olds getting lynched for whistling at white women anymore. Could you imagine what would happen now if something like that happened? We would have a riot that would make the ferguson and LA riots look like child's play. We however do have SJWs going full racist panic mode everywhere, people spending too much time on PewDiePies channel 4chan and shooting up synagogues and churches. We have people losing entire careers over racism accusations regardless of if they seem true or not. The riot in charlottesville wasn't too long ago either.

Neither side seems to be helping with this issue at all. We either got white-guilt SJWs, or RACE WAR NOW alt-right. Yes I know it's more complicated than that but the extremist have the loudest voices. Whether left or right we got people that believe the races just can't coexist. It's either evil whitey or dumb low IQ niggers.

History in the United States is also looked at in a very simplified lens. Instead of having people learn from history and avoid repeating the same mistakes we have people using it to justify their bullshit. "You oppressed our people for centuries!" "You should be thankful that we even brought you over here!" I am also just talking about the white/black dynamic. I haven't even got started on the other ethnic groups in the country. But honestly white vs black is what most people focus on anyway with the occasional look at arabic muslims, native americans or whatever.

My biggest fear is that we will regress into one of the extremes to the point actual bloodshed on a mass scale is spilled, or at the very least all the progress made during the civil rights era becomes undone. The hopeful side of me believes that most people actually don't want to hurt other people, regardless of their origin. (Maybe that's the solution? Just turn off the media and go about your business)

What do you guys think? What do you hope for? I only ask about the USA since the racial dynamics are different here than the rest of the west, but i'm sure Europe has some very similar problems as well. Especially with Muslim migration.

A lot of the people I've met who claim to be 'woke' love blacks, immigrants & other groups in theory but hate them in practice.
When the time comes to look out for the groups they claim to champion, they're not there.

So basically you're believing the VA's claim that the VA is great. On a survey card they hand out to people, and won't give you service until you fill it out. Your 'ex-military' (something no veteran calls themselves) friend story is anecdotal. The VA is a fucking mess, and it's improving- but not what it has been.

If it's a 'welfare system', it's the only one I've seen that actually requires you to do something significant to get your benefits. And it's hard to call it a 'welfare system' when it's part of an arrangement you make on a contract as part of a job.

I'd wager that the experience I have had with the VA was biased, as I viewed it through the eyes of a friend who was in pain and greatly dissatisfied with his level of care. Thanks for taking the time to point out these details.

I imagine they've begun getting their act more together in the last 2-3 years, as well. There has been a big change in our nation's leadership.

Still, I wouldn't consider their arrangement a 'bargain' for the vets and the VA has a vested interest in putting out those stats.

It's too late. We're already at the minor skirmishes and lawfare stage. What happens when all these evil alt right nazis like Vic and Meyer win their lawsuits and the left decides that the evil nazi courts can't be trusted to uphold the law? What happens if Trump loses and declares the election a fraud and doesn't step down?

It's fucked and it's going to get far worse before it gets better. I wish I had the words to describe how fucked the country is if a civil war actually breaks out but I don't have the vocabulary. It is literally beyond what any person in the West can imagine. Go read about the Siege of Sarajevo. That but worse, and every city in the country.

If it's going to stop getting worse, one of two things will have to happen.

A: People are going to have to be genuinely color blind (highly doubt this will ever happen)

B: The rules are going to have to apply universally. This means that attacking white people on the basis of race, is going to have to be just as taboo as attacking blacks, and this also means that if someone wants to start something like a "white college fund," or whatever else, they should be allowed to do so. (or have it the opposite, and everything just be fair game)

Personally, I think the world might be better off racially segregated anyway. Racial tensions aren't the soul reason for societal upheaval, but I can't think of a single nation that is both ethnically mixed, and not constantly suffering from internal strife.

Honestly? I think both alt-left and and alt-right are insufferable and feed and survive solely off the hate and anger of each other, if one group were to spontaneously disappear overnight the other would most likely quickly die off or be shamed by society out of existence. I wouldn't give a shit if both groups just kill each other off in their little toy soldiers war, but I don't want to be involved in it, let alone in the middle of it.
