Definitely looks like it was a good time to go, which is surprising for the summer time. Usually the streets are packed really tight.

Oh it was pretty crowded during the day. Most of the night shots were taken shortly after the parks had closed and people had left for the night.

The one with the ferris wheel is beautiful! Did you ride it? I went on it (before it was Mickey themed) and thought I was going to die. I didn't realize there are some stationary carts and some that are on a track.

Looks like you did all the positive things L.A has to offer (Disneyland and Hollywood), did you guys have fun?

We weren't able to get on it. When we went to try they had just shut it down for the night because the World of Color water and light show was just about to begin and we only spent one day in California Adventure whereas we spent two days in Disneyland. I did however go on California Screamin' with my wife and we had a blast on that one. It was my favorite ride in California Adventure. My wife and son's favorite ride was the Tower of Terror. My son fears no ride and he's not even 5 years old yet. He got really upset when he was told he wasn't tall enough to go on California Screamin'. He did not want to go on any of the kiddie rides and he always wanted to sit next to me which is funny because at home my wife is his favorite person, not me.

Thank you for the compliment about the ferris wheel photo. My wife is fond of that one too. She said it was good enough to be sold in the souvenir shop as a post card.

We had a blast, although I really don't like California. Too many people, no one knows how to drive, people are rude, everything is overpriced, and it's a filthy place. It also took us nearly 2 1/2 hours just to get from Anaheim to Hollywood to see Johnny and Dee Dee Ramones graves. I live in Utah and not being surrounded by mountains was a little unsettling for me. The one thing I wish we had been able to do was Knott's Berry Farm.

Thank you. I've been trying to improve my skills as a photographer. I bought a Nikon D600 DSLR camera this year to replace my old Sony DSLR and it's been the best camera I've ever used. I need to get some more lenses for it though.

I've never been to the California Adventure park. Disneyland however looks a LOT different from the last time I went, and that wasn't even a decade ago.

Did you go on Space Mountain? Was it awesome? I have always wanted to go on Space Mountain. Last time I went it was closed for renovations (for the 50th anniversary of the park) so I've still never been on it.

We went on it twice. It was my favorite ride at Disneyland, followed by the Matterhorn Bobsleds.

The night shots are fantastic! And I really like the owl statue one.

Thank you for posting these. As someone who's never been to California and has only seen "cliche" pictures from Disneyland, (ie: riding Splash Mountain,) it's neat seeing things that most people would kind of gloss over and I like that a lot. I think that's why I like the owl statue picture so much - those kinds of things are all over the place, (at least at Disneyworld, anyway,) but no one really ever takes the time to look at them.

The owl is Archimedes from the Sword in the Stone. There is also one of Wart (Arthur) as a squirrel that I have, but it didn't turn out as good as the Archimedes one.

But I know what you mean about not always catching the little details. There are so many details that Disney puts into their parks, you really can't see them all. Like all the Hidden Mickeys in different places. They actually have books about where to find Hidden Mickeys.
