Since SpongeBob is for kids, then it's doing its job when it includes grossout jokes. The adult autists bitching about them aren't the target audience.

Viacom is a large broadcasting company with many subsidiaries. While parent companies do have control, you can't blame every single thing on them. Viacom is more involved with the business sides. Sure, they may want to tinker with the things their companies put out to keep everything in their best interests, but I doubt there are Viacom bigwigs editing pus jokes into Spongebob while laughing maniacally.

- What does Tom & Jerry have to do with the whole "Thin line with Nick/SpongeBob/Viacom being sickos" thing you talk about? Yeah T&J got away with what they did because it was both made in a time where such things were acceptable and was skewered to an older audience. Besides, if Enter should complain about how sick SpongeBob is, he should take a look at Suds again and see how that holds up for him. Two bucks says he'll be his usual hypocritical self.

I recall there was a particularly funny one in "Haunted House," the Ren and Stimpy episode. He'd flip out over that one.

It's hard to call out SpongeBob for its gross out humor - which was there even in the early episodes, mind you - when R&S did worse. And while it wasn't technically a Nicktoon, the first episode of APC was nothing but gross out gags. (Unfunny gross out gags, that is, but I am ahead of myself.)
