FYAD is Lowtax's protected subforum. They are very insular, and often probate/ban anyone not from their little clique for posting there. That's why it's so small. FYAD is protected by Lowtax, plain and simple.

The thing SA fails to realize is that, just as there is a huge overlap with sites like NeoGAF, reddit, et. al., there is also a huge overlap with sites like KF and SS. And this isn't all. Sa cannot have it both ways, being a site that attempts to cater to a wide variety of interests while trying to enforce a narrow viewpoint. Those two things are obviously at odds to anyone with a whiff of common sense. So, not SA homods and fagmins.

The same could be said about SA as a whole. When I first joined there was so much new content that there'd be a ton of stuff to catch up on every day across multiple sub-forums. Now there are times when I struggle to find one new thread I want to read.

Some of the photoshop threads are funny but all in all there's not much in the way of actually funny things there. There's still interesting things to read (for example Brigador's developers post in the Brigador thread regularly) in places, but there's not really much in the way of comedy.

Other than the admins/mods, the biggest thing I'd blame is how eager people are to dogpile and dump on threads at the slightest chance. It's pretty pointless even if the thread in question is completely worthless, and it discourages people from even trying to add interesting content. Lowtax made a couple of posts halfheartedly telling people to stop it, but then none of the mods bothered enforcing it.

It definitely discourages effort-posting in GBS, but the mods are too busy policing words to do anything about it.

That's honestly about all it has ever been since 03. Corsair hado some good football picks in his threads though. I win some cash with them a few times. Lost a bit too
