Something Something Mail -

Tell me now so I can stop worring about this shit.

I've been doing a lot of ordering on amazon lately because of the coronavirus. So far I have recieved everything but two packages. This has never happened before where I had packages say they been delivered but never shown up. I worry of porch theives stealing my shit and I have just bought a rather pricy security camera from Walmart that I will be installing today to prevent that problem.

Only thing is, I just checked the shipping information on those two packages and both say that they are shipped with USPS. Now I'm thinking that maybe these packages are just sitting in my mailbox with me freaking out over nothing because I just assumed that all amazon deliveries come directly to your door (that's how it works, right?). Why haven't I have checked my mailbox yet? Because I don't have the key. One of my roommates is responsible for checking the mail and has the mail key on his keychain, but left town about a week ago to take care of family and took the key with him by mistake. He sent the key through the mail to one of my relatives that live near me and I'm suppose to get it on sunday. Then I can see if I actually got my packages.

So is my shit just in the mailbox or should I start reporting for theft? I don't know because I'm dumb.

I have had this happen to me before, where a USPS mailman is unable to deliver a package on their scheduled route but the package is still mistakenly marked as delivered. It usually shows up a day or two later whenever the postman is able to actually make the delivery.

That's something else that I'm thinking that happened but I wouldn't know. All this waiting to find out is just making me anxious. That's why I asked so I would know what to expect ahead of time and act sooner if people really are taking my shit.

I wonder if package thieves are on the rise due to Corona? Maybe not due to the fact most people will be in when the mail man arrives... who knows?

Kick in the door to the post office, fire one round into the ceiling, and tell those fuckers they have 10 seconds to get your packages in your hands or you start dropping fools. Sometimes a little assertiveness is all you need to get things done.

USPS is way behind because of massive volume and short staffing. USPS has been cutting positions for years because they are overpaid mail monkeys and now they're dealing with the biggest volume of mail in forever so they're swamped. I'd give it a little while.
