The song was fun when it first came out, but now I see how ridiculous it looks today. Awkward lyrics ("pound of bacon", really?), weird dance choreography, and the fact that Vanilla Ice is obviously standing in front of a blue screen make it a great example of a song not aging well.

Ah and the whole Pet Shop Boys discography. They were the mainstay in radio during my pretentious "smarter than thou" phrase. A few years ago I bought some of their reissues and fuck, the cringe. It also didn't help that the recorded sound (despite having been remastered) was absolute shit.

The worst offender is this: autism in the form of rap.

(Though I admit this song is still a guilty pleasure.)
