Something about the wistfulness of the song and the story behind it really gets me. The big hit of the album, Joey, was equally sad but a lot more upbeat musically.

I'm honestly kind of disturbed by how strongly this affects me, I've heard it over and over and it still makes me cry every fucking time. Apparently I'm not the only one though; whoever wrote this music tapped into something very deep in the human psyche, it seems
This song takes me back to my carefree adolescence and fills me with nostalgia for the mid-PS3 era of gaming when it felt like everything was turning around for the console and that generation was in full swing. It was such a magical time in my life and this song has those feelings come rushing back every time it comes on.
The reason for this is that the song was featured on the LittleBigPlanet 2 trailer.
It's funny because I wasn't even an LBP fan but the trailer and the song came out at the exact perfect time that it struck such a chord with me.
Don’t Let’s Start by They Might be Giants. The way John Linnell sings “Who could believe for all the world/that you’re my precious little girl” gives me chills every time.
