Songs that you are ashamed that you like - Songs that you listen to when no one else is around

I'm a huge fan of "high funk" 80s and 90s style hiphop. (Also any Moonman remixes)
But THIS is the by far the most autistic thing on my workout playlist. I genuinely hurts to post it here.

Idk if "ashamed" but it can be embarrassing to talk about sometimes but, Green Day is my favorite band. I like anything by green day pre-2012ish (post-2012 to me is complete unlikable trash, like I really hate to even see it let alone hear it)

My favorite time period; anything up to and including American idiot (except the overplayed songs; good riddance, American idiot, boulevard of broken dreams, etc, anything gets boring if you hear it too much) I ownet every album up to 21st Century Breakdown including Bullet in a Bible; My favorite album is Insomniac, favorite song "Panic Song", I like the other 90's-2000 albums a LOT.

I also listen to a lot of other cringy pop punk shit, emo music, random 80s songs. I've been obsessed with this song circle in the sand by belinda carlisle for example. heart of glass by blondie is really good

I get embarrassed talking about music that I like, that other people are critical of. But in the end these things are all based on opinion anyway. (But I do listen to music a lot of people think is decent too, so idk)

I legit like Carameldansen and the nightcore version of Rockefeller Street unironically. I also have been known to get down to the bands Aqua and Toybox from time to time.
I agree. I've never heard nightcore Rockefeller Street, but Carameldansen is catchy, and Aqua and Toybox both had some really good songs. Aqua may be Illuminati as fuck, but they knew how to write memorable hooks.

That's not something I hold off on until no else is around, though. For "no one else is around", it'd probably be something like

Quite a bit of 80s pop/dance music. Some of my favorites

I would absolutely party with you.

Back on the subject to avoid double-posting - I don't think there are any songs that I can only play when nobody else is around, but there are certainly songs that also prompt a low-key defensiveness because I know someone will say "you like THIS?!" Fuck it, it reminds me of fun times and I will sing loudly and badly to it when it comes on shuffle.

I unironically like this song because they used to play it on the radio all the time when I was like in the 1st grade:

(this is the original version, which IMHO is 100x better than the popular techno dance remix that everyone's familiar with)

You like THIS?!

Aha, I see, look up Mr. Bungle and have a grand ol time exposing it to people you never want to speak to again.
Mr Bungle's not really "comic metal", tho. They're a whole bunch of different genres, and while some of their songs take ironic jabs at metal convenients (re-DUN-dant REE-DUN-dant), it's not like a parody of metal, especially not in the same way Dethklok is.

For comic metal, I'd say you're looking for

(maybe? Nekrogoblikon plays it pretty straight, but then again, Dethklok does too)

Mr Bungle's off in its own little world. There aren't many bands that try to emulate them.

DFD is like an alt-metal version of Mr Bungle, although it's still pretty far off the mark.

But I'd definitely recommend Mr Bungle to everyone reading this thread.
