I wonder why we never had any Sonic "replacer" coming out in recent years, kind of how Bloodstained is the new Castlevania. I still want to see someone attempt a Sonic 1 again and move on from there.

At this point the franchise is worthless and it's just kept alive for shekels anyway, i guess someone just needs to make a platformer with the same autism magnet Sonic had back then.
Pretty sure the biggest reason is because not even the fans know what makes a good 3D Sonic game. 2D Sonic has practically been perfected if Mania is any indication.

Why were you so lazy to not include the video and just posted the link?

Anyways the models look fucking weird, reminds me of that old ass Sonic Minecraft mod.
The only two custom models for the mod, the rest of the Sonic characters are just regular skins.

But in all honesty, the mod was pretty good, everything other than the Sonic and his friend was pretty cool. (items and the NPCs like Chaos and the Motobugs)
Although it is cool that it's a mashup back (or whatever) and not just a texture pack like the Mario one tho.

Btw on that note, there was a really good Minecraft mod that was released not too long ago named "SoniCraft". it adds a whole new dimension with Sonic stuff and it's pretty cool.

I thought the weirdly short legacy of Sonic Minecraft mods was over with this but I guess it ends with this one, not too sure if it's actually good or better than SoniCraft tho.

Note: yes I know there's alot more Sonic mods out there but I'm talking about the big ones.
There was a mod made before SoniCraft, there was a pretty mediocre Sonic NPC mod

But its Sonic (and friends) models look a lot better than the official ones.

It was cool how they added SA1 NPCs like Gamma, Beta, and Chaos tho. (Mainly cuz it's meant to be a SA mod I think but still)

Also it was neat that everyone had a unique attacking animation but it again it was only NPCs and there wasn't that much to it compared to the first one.

Btw another thing that brought the mod down was how the maker added his edgy ass anime oc for some reason.

Anyways to end this off here are all the Sonic models standing side by side for comparison.

Note: SoniCraft's Sonic and friends are made to be scale to their actual heights which is why they are so small.

The best Minecraft community store mod was the Pacman one, it was pretty good and this doesn't look on the level of that. (And it wasn't even made by Mojang as well lol)
Honestly I totally forgot about the Youtube link, my bad. Let me make up for it with the gift of more knowledge:

SONIC ORIGINS “WON’T BE RUNNING OFF EMULATION,” MORE CLASSIC SONIC GAMES MAY BE REMASTERED

Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka has confirmed to The Sonic Stadium that the recently-announced Mega Drive/Genesis classics compilation, Sonic Origins, won’t be a simple emulation job – opening up the possibility for games like Sonic 3 & Knuckles to include reworked visuals and gameplay features.
Sonic Origins was officially announced during SEGA’s Sonic Central livestream, and offers a selection of classic 16-bit platformers from Sonic the Hedgehog’s history: Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic 3, Sonic & Knuckles and Sonic CD. The trailer caught a lot of buzz for showcasing some of the games in 16:9 widescreen – suggesting that Christian Whitehead’s iOS and Android remakes of these titles will feature in the collection.

In an exclusive interview with The Sonic Stadium, Iizuka revealed that more work is going into Sonic Origins than fans might expect, when compared to past retro compilations such as Sonic Mega Collection and SEGA Mega Drive Ultimate Collection.

“I am pleased to see the positive reaction to Sonic Origins – it exceeded my expectation. I wanted to bring back Sonic 3 & Knuckles since I personally worked on that title, so we planned to announce this title around the timing of the 30th Anniversary,” Iizuka explained.

“I’m not able to speak to the product details yet, but I can tell you that this will not be a compilation title running off emulation. We are planning on supporting a 16:9 full screen game for ease of play. For anyone that hasn’t played any of those original games, Sonic Origins will be perfect for you.”

Classic game preservation has become a hot topic in recent years, particularly with modern home consoles being unable to play certain titles from past generations. While this makes Sonic Origins (and the Sonic Colours remaster) a welcome release for today’s audience, there are also many older Sonic games locked to old hardware.

When asked about other potential candidates for SEGA to bring back – ranging from the more esoteric and rare titles such as the Sonic Advance series, SEGASonic the Hedgehog arcade or Knuckles’ Chaotix – Iizuka told The Sonic Stadium that his team is exploring options to re-introduce more games from Sonic’s back catalogue to a wider audience.

“With the huge success of the [Sonic] movie last year, we have an opportunity to get more people interested in Sonic who didn’t know him before,” Iizuka revealed. “That opportunity was the reason why we planned for Sonic Colors Ultimate and Sonic Origins, to present some legacy content to this new audience. While we haven’t locked down all our plans yet, there are so many great Sonic games from the past 30 years that can’t be played on modern hardware, so we would love to explore bringing more of those legacy titles out to entertain a new audience.”

30 years since the first game's release tomorrow
I've always been a bit confused about the timeline. The Master System came out in America first, right?

So when they developed a Sonic game for the Genesis/Megadrive, they made an entirely different one for the Game Gear, which was ported to the Master System?

there was A sonic game for the master system made sometime after the genesis game. It was more or less a demake of the genesis game. though oddly enough the master system game to bear the name sonic 2 was a completly different game from the genesis one and instead of 3 the master system got sonic triple trouble.

Who was the audience for the Master System? Was it widely available in Europe but not in the States? I don't think I ever saw one on shelves.

There was actually no official Master System port of Triple Trouble, only Game Gear.

Yup, mostly a European thing. I know the Master System is/was huge in Brazil.

But for real I'll keep my expectations low for the show even if it's made by the Ben 10 people (remember they also made the reboot as well)View attachment 2287760

Also here's the rest of the concept art, there was only like two photos left so yeah
I just hope it's fun. Boom was mostly comedic and didn't really have much to say or do as a result.
