What he's missing is that mosaic loss of Y chromosome doesn't eliminate the Y chromosome from the body, it's just eliminating the Y chromosome from certain leukocytes (white blood cells). If you took a tissue swab from elsewhere you would still see the Y chromosome. Additionally, it's fully possible for women to lose an X chromosome from their leukocytes, or for men to gain an additional copy of the Y chromosome.
I also think Billy would be very upset by such loaded language as "genomic aberrations" or "the PRS analysis in women (who do not carry a Y chromosome)" but he clearly didn't read the article (which specifically explains that this is a bad thing for leukocyte counts) let alone the associated papers.

Some of my ancestors were from Catholic families and were forced to apostasise in order to inherit land, while others were Protestants who were faithful to the Crown. Some of my ancestors were Anglo-Saxon peasants, and some of my other ancestors were Norman barons who owned serfs. If you go far back in your family or the history of your country you'll find that you and yours have both been oppressed and done the oppressing. Why do Leafs treat any of that as a surprise?

The residential school system was created as an alternative to on-reserve day schools, which required the parents of the children to remain around to take care of their kids. The residential schools were created specifically to cater to the lifestyles of seasonal hunters, fishers, trappers, and other natives who wanted to continue to pursue their stone-age lifestyle and leave their children behind whenever they weren't around, which was most of the year. Most natives did not fall into this category, so most native children weren't sent to residential schools. Those that were, the vast majority were not taken by force but sent off by their parents. They were not forced into residential schools any more than children today are 'forced' to attend school. A majority of students at these schools were not abused, though those that attended catholic schools may have been subject to harsh physical discipline as were common at catholic schools.

As well, the 'mass graves' that were allegedly found were/are in fact just graveyards. These schools would've had tens of thousands of students over the course of their operational lifetimes; the largest close to 100,000. They would've been operating during the Spanish flu pandemic, and other virulent disease pandemics that would've killed people. Individuals who died while attending residential schools weren't buried in 'mass graves' but in individual graves. If you actually break down the graves it's like less than 3 per year at the school in Kamloops, a school that had up to 500 students at any one time. The schools were operated by one of a few churches, like the Catholic church, but were funded by the government, and per-student funding was rather low. Whenever there was a death, they were buried in marked graves, but the graves were marked with simple wooden crosses that rotted over time and were not replaced. These 'mass graves' they are 'discovering' were never lost, and were known to be gravesites all along. The new development of claiming them to be 'mass grave' sites is highly suspect and almost certainly politically motivated. In order to classify them as 'mass graves' you have to stretch the definition so far that almost every graveyard in the country could be considered a 'mass grave.'

You're correct that native bullshit in Canada is roughly equivalent to race criticalism in the United States, in that the media, the government, and corporations are totally in favour of it as a means of pitting people against one another on the basis of race so as to prevent people from banding together against a common enemy in the rich.

I'd love to fully agree, but when you have actual accounts from people who went through those supposedly benign schools, it feels dismissive. Perhaps not all of them were that bad, but you can't deny that there was some shady shit going on in Canada's history. Trust me, I don't doubt that this is definitely being used as political bait, especially since they've been screeching about X amount of indigenous women missing for the past couple of years. At this point, we don't know if they're all indigenous or a mixture. The accounts shared by survivors are fairly damning, though.
