5/22 update - Sorbet back from the vet.

Sorbet was found today, by a neighbor. He had not returned home last night. Thank God I put my number on his tag. A neighbor found him, looking hurt, hiding in a gutter under their driveway. It took effort, and a water spray from a hose. We got him out; he suffered some head trauma; uneven pupil dialation, bruises and dings; some bleeding. Doctor said it looked like he was hit by a car. He's staying at the vet over the weekend for examination and bathing. Say a prayer for Sorbet in his quick recovery. We all love him. — feeling sad.

Spraying a cat who was already hit by a car with a hose seems horrible to me.

So the cat that (if I'm remembering this right) Chris "adopted" (stole) from a cat that had a litter in their backyard, then was raised inside the house for most of the start of its life, meaning it was used to the indoors and no idea of the dangers outside, (though the Hoard is a danger itself, that and being trapped in laundry rooms) so when it goes outside, this feral cat got hit by a car...

I feel sorry for Sorbet, no animal should be but through the horrors of the Chandlers... but this is what happens to indoor cats that go outside unaware and unprepared...

So the cat "didn't come back" and Chris didn't even give a fuck to go look for him. It wasn't until a neighbor called because of the cat's tag that he finally gave a fuck to go look.

Then he sees an injured cat, bleeding and hiding... and what's his first thought? Spray it with a hose to scare it out. Making it wet and cold in the process.

Granted, water wasn't going to hurt the cat more than a car... but Jesus, have some human decency. He doesn't even have autism to blame for this one. There was several cases of autistic people handing animals with care and respect because animals are what they can connect with.

Either the cat is going to die from her injuries or she's going to get bandaged up and sent back to Casa De Chandler and die there because no one will take proper care for her and make sure she gets her meds and other needs met.
