Double post:

From Seahorse Seashell Party: "You are suggesting that people who are being abused should stay in abusive relationships for their abusers' benefit. And this isn't played for laughs like Plankton's suicide attempt. This is dead straight. It's the moral of the episode. It is NOT' noble to take in someone else's shit and abuse. Yes, it takes a strong person to live in an abusive relationship, but it takes a stronger person to get out of it. If you're in an abusive relationship, then the best thing you could do is to get out of it. Tell someone; the authorities, your teacher, anyone. What about them and their benefit. Fuck them and their benefit. If someone is hurting you in such a way, they don't deserve to be a part of your life and never did in the first place. The only thing they deserve to be is a distant memory."

"Squidward Torture worked back then because he actually deserved it and they didn't go too far with it, but now it doesn't because his assholishness didn't carry over to the newer seasons."
From Tumblr: "I’ve never actually seen it [Dragon Ball Z] to great extents. I’ve seen various episodes, but it turned me off due to a fusion of episodes where nothing happened and episodes that moved the plot a mile." Pretty much why I didn't watch the various Remastered redubs in their entirety.
You do know that Kai cut out the filler, right?

If I could agree on one thing, it would be no kid deserves to watch crap. However, not every show is gonna be another avatar or gravity falls or whatever.
Agreed. I don't think kids should have to watch anything that they hate... but then again, they can easily tell their parents "I don't like this show", and then mommy and daddy can change the channel. That's what I did when I was little, because, like MrEnter tries to emphasize, kids aren't idiots.

I agree with you
but Enter thinks a kid should stop watching a show they like, Breadwinners for example, because Entard thinks its a bad influence to their taste.

Enter knows children don't deserve crap - Which is true. Too bad his idea of good is hard to take into consideration, if not impossible, due to what a snob he is.

I cannot stress this enough...

His snobbishness is what mentally kills me the most. Just because a cartoon comes off as gross, stupid, or some other negative to someone does not mean you speak for everyone! Real critics know this. Entard isn't, doesn't, and refuses to.

I know one thing is certain - if I was Entard and I was looking through his eyes right now, I'd probably want to begin re-thinking and re-tooling my general life and worldview, already.

A lot of enterbots get legitimately angry when they're told kids like Teen Titans Go or Breadwinners, if DA is anything to go by.

FUCK. THEM. ALL. They don't know anything - and if they were in charge... The Western Animation industry would be fucked beyond repair , if not even more so than it is now, IMHO...

I agree completely, but there are a few glimmers of hope. Adventure Time, Regular Show, Steven Universe, Over The Garden Wall, and Gravity Falls are all pretty good. Then again, more than half are from Cartoon Network because Nick is too busy making the exact same sitcoms (Seriously, they made 2 sitcoms in 2 years themed to superheroes. Both are still running.), and Disney is just doing the same stuff it has been doing for 10 years, with a few exceptions.

None of this applies to Family Guy, though. The atrocity that quote is from is Herpe the Love Sore. People hated Brian for how much of a jerk he'd become, and he has no likability to make it work. The characters he screws over are those viewers grew up with.

Of course you likely already know all of this
Sorry for the extraordinarily late reply, but I just decided to read this. When it comes to Family Guy, you really aren't supposed to sympathize with anyone. It's purely a comedy and you're supposed to laugh at all the stupid shit they do, like we on Kiwi Farms laugh at things that MrEnter or Chris-chan do.

Normally I'd agree, but when the characters are neither funny nor likable (same goes for the new episodes themselves and the jokes they use), it just falls flat.

I can see where you're coming from, but I have an opinion of my own that would contradict that logic: I don't find MrEnter himself funny or likable, yet it is very fun to go on here and joke around about him. Considering Family Guy is something to watch with your friends at night while you've got nothing better to do, it's likely that most of what you'll be doing while watching is making fun of the show. Thus, the episode likely works in that regard, provided there's stuff to talk about. It's a Family Guy episode that provides nothing of interest that should be panned, not an episode that's simply too screwed up to be funny on it's own merits. If you're going to criticize something and try to speak for everyone, try to make sure you know when people are going to watch something and when they're not. Know the audience for the show.

You miss the point. We're not supposed to like Peter Grifin, but in a way you're supposed to relate to him. Peter's a liar, a bit of a perv, lazy, rude, and woefully inept. In some ways, you can see the inadequacies of yourself in him. He's a reflection of the worst of us doing stupid things and occasionally getting flak for it and thus we get to laugh at it.

You miss the entire point of shows like Family Guy, Simpsons, and South Park if you think you're supposed to "root" for any one character.

They aren't supposed to be glorified, but they can be liked to an extent. I didn't "root" for him when he was doing bad things, but I could relate to him like you said. They've taken his worst aspects too far in recent years, though, to the point where idiocy and jerkishness define him.
