The article was quite good, studies on pedos were not exactly convincing but they did point out the astonishing amount of pedophiles in sand nigger land (where nothing even similar to a loli exist) while in Japan pedo cases were near zero and before someone else point out the age consent or something else, sand nigger pedos = fucking girls AND boys under 10yo without even been remotely associated with them.

It's really hard to get good data on this stuff. You can't just show pedo group A some loli, show pedo group B nothing and see who rapes kids first. Also, it's very hard to account for differences between cultures and ideologies that are deeply ingrained within different societies that could effect things.
Then there's the issue of if pedophilia just a fetish or is it more like a 'sexual orientation', for lack of a better term. We know that a sexually abused child is more likely to grow up into a pedophile than one who isn't, which points to the former, but that's also not a hard and fast rule. Then there's some kind of brain science that says some pedos have wierd shit going on with there brain, so I have no clue. Maybe pedophilia can be a symptom of other maladies, maybe not.
Basically, it's a hard thing to figure out for a lot of reasons.

I've already mentioned this in many a thread but:

Drawings aren't pedophilia. Real pedophilia is horrifying. Drawings don't come close. Nothing drawn is real. No drawn character was ever harmed. I think its a disservice to even compare the two with the real sick shit that goes on.

Also this has nothing to do with child welfare and is purely a xenophobic move by South Korea to prevent the influence of Japan. Anyone thinking this has anything to do with morality is a joke.

This has been going on in SK for awhile. SK has wanted to ban anime and Japanese manga for a very long time. Not just 'sexually explicit' versions of them, all of them. The problem is they're not China and have to feign Democracy and just can't go 'BAN IT'. So this is laying the foundation for that, so anyone celebrating this is celebrating a road to censorship that has been a long time in the making. SK is also extremely censorious as well and has a similar firewall to China. Also, SK pop idols are frequently underage and highly sexualized, so once again, this isn't 'for the children'. Its 'for the integrity of our country'.

People just forget how nationalistic, authoritarian and censorious SK is. There's also a large conflict with the older conservatives and younger liberals coming up. The older conservatives want to intensify authoritarianism while the liberals want a more open society. This is a large, boiling conflict in South Korea. Foreign influence is being blamed for this gulf, hence the desire to ban Japanese entertainment en masse.

You do know that SK has it's own manga industry, right? Manhwa. You can find plenty of home grown smut.

Drawn depictions of child abuse are the same as drawn depictions of violence or murder.

We should ban movies media and videogames in which someone is hurt I guess.

1. There are legitimate reasons for violence. When we see Indiana Jones shoot a swordsman trying to kill him, we don't condemn that because what he is doing is correct. Nobody ever molested a child in self-defense. Nor are there complex moral situations to debate on when molesting a child is right that a film could explore.
2. Depicting violence as part of a story is different to depicting child molestation so that someone can get off to it. You understand this difference even if you affect not to, so explaining this isn't needed.
3. Anyone who gets off to this has a serious problem. At best, the images enable their problem. Worst, it leads them on to things that directly harm real children and normalises such fetishes. We're already seeing "NOMAP" people quite proudly identifying themselves online. Shame is not a bad thing when the shame is because you want to molest children. It's the correct damn response.

About the only positive argument I've ever heard made about drawn child porn is that it provides an outlet for pedoes who would otherwise seek out real children / real child porn. Something which I greatly doubt as it flies in the face of how we know porn to work which is that people become desensitized to it and need to seek out ever more extreme versions to get off.

South Korea has very strict anti-pornography laws and there's always been an anti-Japanese undercurrent in Korean culture thanks to the atrocities of the Imperial Japanese Army during the first half of the 20th Century. So, it's hard to tell if this was actually lolicon drawings meant to depict minors or some big boobs anime girl who happened to be wearing a school girl uniform but otherwise looked like an adult.

The former is creepy as fuck any way you slice it. The latter is a common trope even in Western porn (and even non-porn media) whether we like it or not.

Seriously though, they're gonna have a really hard time enforcing a law if they even get one in place. The amount of time and money they're gonna waste debating over cartoon porn is what SK deserves for being one of the most culturally cucked nations of east Asia.

I think in the end it'll turn out to be a nothingburger. It'll end up as some woke talking point for a few months and then disappear entirely. I have never actually seen S. Korean society follow through with anything that is primarily social outrage.

They could be fighting actual human trafficking that occurs in their idol industry or the tons of issues with the beauty and cosmetic surgery industry but they're more concerned about sticking it to the Japanese pixels. Which again, will ultimately fail.

But damn if it isn't funny watching people get up in arms about it.
