Space Trucker - fps game consisting of blatantly stolen assets -

  • Intermittent Denial of Service attack is causing downtime. Looks like a kiddie 5 min rental. Waiting on a response from upstream.

There's a retro FPS game that's priced at a whopping 14.99 dollars (but reduced to 13.99) at Steam. And the name of that game is Space Trucker.

Currently it has stolen assets from a bunch of old games like Blood and TekWar and there's some comparison between it's trailer and the sprites it's stolen from somewhere, and probably content from Doom modders as well.

EDIT: Also, there are 9 reviews overall but the other 8 won't appear for some reason and the game publisher deletes threads regarding the stolen assets. Also, it actually ripped off the gore and black gloved hands from Brutal Doom.

All but one of the reviews are in Russian, you need to change some preferences on reviews to see em. The Russians like it though, dunno if it's actually a Russian game or just because it lets you play as one. Weird cunts.

The whole game could be just a front for furries to add their own fursonas in steam. Also, the publisher of this game is a furry group. We could have been staring at a group of cows, boyos.

An excerpt from a ZDoom post:

From the Facepunch forums:
Marphy Black wrote:The Space Trucker situation has already been brought to the attention of the appropriate parties. The best course of action at the moment is to deny the infringing title any more attention. We have top men working on it right now.

Also, these games are obviously just elaborate fronts for the authors to add their furry personas, or "furrysonas" as I believe they're called, officially to Steam in the form of profile backgrounds and emoticons: Exhibit A, Exhibit B, Exhibit 3, Exhibit D.
(Marphy works on a game that's sold on Steam, and as such has access to the private Steamworks forums. He'd probably know about any jigs being up.)
