I disagree, Solo clearly establishes Lando as an important underworld guy who owns a cool ship which he's insistant on protecting. Yes, it's kind of an exaggeration on his statements on the Millennium Falcon in ESB, but it's understandable since that ship is important to him. And Donald Glover captures Lando's character really well.

That stupid droid is barely a part of Lando's character in the movie, just that he relies on it to help out on the ship. If Disney didn't come out with the idiotic "Lando is pansexual" it would simply be an annoying ass droid (since Solo couldn't decide whether the droid was a comedic element or a serious plot point) which Lando relied on to help his piece of junk ship stay together. There's literally nothing about how Lando is in love with the droid except if you project on the stupid "Lando is pansexual" declaration.
Nothing? Nothing at all?

Can you name any other time a character was that upset over a droid getting shot? Artoo or Threepio were shot in every film of the OT and nobody ever reacted.

And then what does he do after all that? Upload L3 into the Falcon (so then the nav computer can do the hyperspace flying) resulting in the climax.

(Damn you for making me relive that movie...)

Call me optimistic but now that the trainwreck of plan 9 has finally settled in and general audiences have lost all interest in nuwars I haven't run into too many diehard defenders nowadays.

Give it another year or two and I'm sure nobody will honestly defend this disaster anymore.

You get a hard ":optimistic:" from me for that one. Disney has settled on using the OG Trilogy (and some of PT) to apply their degenerate current year politics to it. Because the OG trilogy is something people actually liked, the ST wasnt, so its far "safer" to put your politics there. There is a reason we wont hear from the ST for a while, Disney knows that, outside of shills and hardcore fans, no one really liked those movies. But trust me, there will always be someone who will say the ST was a "vanguard" of its time at how "progressive" it was on a time where "white males dominated the screen", completely ignoring it was hot trash...since they gotta smell their own farts and drink soy-whine somehow.

There was an attempt I think like a year ago over on 8chan which was apparently making progress but then 8chan died so I have no idea what's become of that.

Anyway the Squadron trailer shit finally dropped but with no fucking gameplay as expected, so all the info so far comes from IGN bullshit. Confirmed thus far is that it is indeed a New Republic era game set after ROTJ with multiple campaigns that's mainly a 1st person flight simulator like the old X-Wing games but may have ground campaigns like Rogue Squadron. Bad news is that it looks like this shit is going to be about Alphabet Squadron after all, as a Squadron from that novel, the less stupidly named "Vanguard Squadron" will be the main characters of the New Republic campaign while the main characters of the Empire campaign are the wholly new "Titan Squadron".

Alphabet Squadron is pretty much confirmed as their commanding officer, Filoni's green twilek OC from Aladdin's Rebels, will be a main character and Rebel commander... So expect Alphabet Squadron and even Rex to pop in as Nik Sant...

Here is the main Rebel cast.
View attachment 1378447
The main character is an unnamed racially ambiguous female character and a black girl who seems to be from Alphabet Squadron. There's also a dude whose not important and who appears to be a Mirialan (green/yellow skinned people), and two token non-humanoid aliens, a Trandoshan and in a surprising twist a Coway, making it one of the few times an old obscure EU alien is in the lead of a Disney property, but that's probably only happening because it was included in Solo with a shitty new redesign (which is just a recolored Utai from the prequels) and unoriginal name.

Can't have them look like savages.

Here are the imperial playable characters.
View attachment 1378475
With a main male lead unsurprisingly but he looks like the RK Outpost guy but with a chin, which he even points out...
You know they'll probably defect because of EA's Operation Cinder bullshit and won't allow Imperial characters to look sympathetic unless they turn into generic turncoats.

The supposed Tri-Wing that was pictured before in the poster was just a U-Wing in a weird pose so expect little to no variation and ships unless through in game purchases. Like in the novel, they'll only be limited to four vehicle classes, X-Wing, A-Wing, Y-Wing, U-Wing with no B-Wings in sights despite those actually part of the post-ROTJ era unlike Disney's unoriginally designed fanfic U-Wings.

Wedge is also in the game along with some Mon Calamari.

But I still can't believe EA went and made a fucking Alphabet Squadron game... Now that shit is going to be more talked about and defended. Only thing that could make this worse is if they announce Wendig characters too. With the upcoming release of Alphabet Squad Shadow Fall in just a few days, I shouldn't be surprised...
So not even a human male, much less white male Rebel pilot? No thank you. I am beyond tired of this.

It looks like they had no issue making the evil Imperial pilots all white.

And a Rebel Trandoshan? Wasnt this species pro Empire and were they not...gasp...slavers?

I feel like someone needs to make some kind of archive or wordpress of every retarded thing in Disney's Nu-Canon. Just so I have a master list of references whenever some Disney Drone runs me through the same lecture of the EU "being full of contradictions and hokey shit that needed to be flushed out of continuity".
So..... a list of Disney nu-canon? :smug:
I remember around Plan IX's release that someone on 4chan made a wojak reaction of Soyjaks and HelloGreedo hating on something obscure or a joke from pre-Disney but then guzzling Disney's cum when they did the exact same thing for real and on a bigger budget and scale and HelloGreedo jabbing Disney only after IX came out and when it was no longer profitable while still hardly ever calling out the majority of their shit. I honestly can't find that shit now but here's my cheap attempt at recreating it with more shit.

Dammit, now I can no longer say "praise the holy red one" at church without feeling weird.

Thanks, Disney.

P.S. Because you know someone has to - weren't the inquisitors apprentices competing with Vader? I haven't quite read through all of Vader's comic 2nd wave but I didn't see yet those being his apprentices.

Also, on a more philosophical note, I wonder about Vader having apprentices. It's like.... on a level, he was always a "bad" sith, and I like the idea that he wasn't ever going to bother overthrowing the emperor until Luke was in the picture - then he was willing to do it as a father/son project.

But then I'll freely admit that is more fanon in my head interpretations of things before Cyril brings it up. ;)

Counter point, we're happy that B-wings are being kept away from anything Didney Waz.
Good point. It's probably good to look at this situation in the same light as Katarn, they can't ruin something they don't touch.
Too late, Filoni already got his hands on the B-Wing. I'm half expecting future portrayals of it to include this too, maybe EA will try to sneak in another DLC once they're confident they've shaken off the heat they got for nu-BF2.

Every clip I see of Rebels, I just want to slap everybody's face.

I can't put my finger quite on it, but just the faces are not right. (Don't have this problem with Filoni's Waifu Wars.) Is it me, or is everyone dripping with smug?

Conceived as potential replacements but end up being subordinates especially outside the crappy comics. Some like the Inquisitor from Aladdin's Rebels and older jedi defectors like him are treated as the Emperor's failed attempts at replacing Vader in nu-canon, the younger ones were trained by Palpatine as well but then Vader finished their training or completely managed their training from the start or didn't train them at all, it varies between writers, Filoni writers, guides, etc. From what some shit says, jedi knights who defected became Palpatine's apprentices and padawans who defected became Vader's apprentices, like the tanned emo bitch from Fallen Order and the big fatty. Now stop making me remember this shit.

Also as I said before, despite Disney's more bountiful resources, the show both looked and moved like it was on an incredibly cheap budget when compared to a Filoni Wars episode from 2008 which both looked and moved far better than this crap despite its wooden designs.

I know i probably said this on my other post. It still kinda bug me how dirty and unfair Filoni (War) did with Grievous beside being a punching bag for TCW, i know it Lucas idea but it still doesn't make sense for a cyborg who get way underpowered to the dirt that somehow get ranked to lead the droid armies, acting like an idiot for no reason, that get blame for his failure by Dooku (but still want him) and yet Dooku call Grievous for help like in Massacre on Dathomir and Dark Disciple Novel.

One more thing unlike most of TCW Villains who don't get shitted on and able to hold there own like Pre Vizsla, Ventress maybe, Pong Krell and Savage Oppress a sloppy brute duelist allows to get 3 or 4 Jedi while Grievous only allow to get 1 Jedi, i heard Eeth Koth was propose to die by Grievous while Oppress can kill Adi Gallia. i hate seeing stupid comment like "Grievous more weaker than Vizsla" and "Pong Krell can easily clap Grievous no cap". Funny how nobody want to talk about how Maul got his leg shot off while retreating on Florrum, if that was Grievous it would made him more of a joke but I guess for Maul it no issue.

Yes this is a real picture from one of Disney's Vader comics. This is what Grievous' legacy leads to... A fish head slapped slapped onto a cheap copy of his body.
Those pictures hurt my brain.

Which Inquisitors, EU or Mouse Wars? I don't know much about the latter, but I do recall that there was an element of "fighting for Dad's attention" between Vader and the Emperor's Hands (or Mara Jade, anyway; I don't know if Marek Stele or the others ever had such a personal relationship with Palpatine), with Palpatine using the Hands as a reminder/implicit threat to Vader that he could be replaced if need be, while dangling the vague possibility that perhaps they could one day replace Vader in front of Mara and the other Hands (thus spurring both sides to further assert their devotion to him).

Also, on a more philosophical note, I wonder about Vader having apprentices. It's like.... on a level, he was always a "bad" sith, and I like the idea that he wasn't ever going to bother overthrowing the emperor until Luke was in the picture - then he was willing to do it as a father/son project.
I rather agree that Vader was never really an enthusiastic or devout convert to the Sith faith. It's a bit vague in the OT, but I think that the PT really develops the idea that Vader doesn't actually care all that much about the Sith or the Emperor except insofar as they're tied to the stability of the Empire, the peace and order imposed by which has become Vader's main reason for existing in the absence of his beloved wife (but then he discovers that, wonder of wonders, he does, in fact, have an heir, and all sorts of wheels start spinning in his head)...

But then I'll freely admit that is more fanon in my head interpretations of things before Cyril brings it up. ;)

Tarkin looks like he’s having fucking war flashbacks in that frame

So I was looking through HK47’s page on Wookieepedia and came across something truly horrifying. Apparently in the third novel of Cuck Wendig’s character assasination of Wedge Antilles his stupid donught still version of HK47 briefly slips into the same speech pattern as HK47 thus implying that the knockoff was the real thing all along. Now I’ve had the misfortune of reading through the third book but I’d either forgotten that bit or didn’t pick up on it. I now hate Chuck Wendig just an tiny bit more than I did before learning this
