Just watching all this shit

I doubt Filoni even knows about the Spaarti program, or even remembers it if he does know it. It and the Khommite aren't even part of Disney shit outside of a namedrop in a magazine from 2015 and Filoni even dumbed down the number of clones more than Stover and Traviss. That and the PT-era made little mention of them outside of one novel and a Force Unleashed book (and FU is more in-between OT and PT at that).

I think people shouldn't pretend that Filoni and his writers care about old stuff or are trying to be consistent with themselves at this point.
I always assumed that the Spaarti tubes (and the associated problems) were just one of those things from the EU that got quietly dropped following the release of the prequel trilogy, since AOTC gave us the "official" background of the clone armies and the Clone Wars (the backstory still wasn't fully fleshed out/known when the Thrawn trilogy was written).

I did always think that there was a missed opportunity to bring them back into the canon during the Clone Wars TV show by having the Seperatists try to start forming their own clone army. When the Season 3 trailer came out, I had a theory that Savage Oppress was going to wind up being used as a clone template for use in Spaarti tubes by Count Dooku. But of course despite being hyped, Savage wound up only being used for one or two storylines before being killed off, and George only wanted this character as a way to reintroduce Darth Maul.

Shit like this is why I respect Robert Zemeckis who has resisted giving into this with his films. Has Back to the Future been shelled back out to us? No. Has Who Framed Roger Rabbit gotten an unnecessary sequel? No.

Yeah but that's easy when you're original lead isn't capable of doing the film.

Plus BTTF already went a film too far with the third film. It'd have been much better as just the first two films. Or the plot of the second expanded over two films. The third was done just "because." I've seen Zemeckis state as much on home media special features. Basically, the original plan was for 1 film. The sequel set up was just to be a fun ending. When they decided to do a sequel, they'd set up the future already and then thought it'd be fun to go back into the events of the first film. For the third film, he always wanted to make a western.

They did mention them in PT-era guides as tech that was incorporated late into the Clone Wars to boost the number of clone soldiers, but that was about it sadly.

We already had a CIS clone army before that, one they could've actually expanded on in TCW and even included the Spaarti and Khommites into. I mean heck, the show even featured Saleucami, the main location where this army was spawned, early in the show, and they could've actually turned this conflict into something way bigger on par with what was described in the Thrawn Trilogy, but nope. Saleucami just ended up being used for cheap filler and the conflicts were as small as ever in the show...

EDIT: As for Indy 5, I don't know about you all, but I can't think of a movie I would care less about than that.

Regardless of how you feel about Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (I was more middle on the road with it than most), we already got the nostalgia Indy film. For better or worse, we already got the "Remember Indy from your childhood? He's back!" movie.

Shit like this is why I respect Robert Zemeckis who has resisted giving into this with his films. Has Back to the Future been shelled back out to us? No. Has Who Framed Roger Rabbit gotten an unnecessary sequel? No.

Sometimes you just gotta leave shit alone.
Sad thing is that the minute Zemeckis croaks they're going to be butchering his work hard. I do find it fitting how BTTF has had no remakes, sequels or no new media (outside of commercials, parodies and a meh point and click game with quality voice acting) in years yet it still has persisted in the public eye and is still just as beloved as ever, proving that Hollywood's claims that old stuff needs moronic sequels, reboots and remakes to stay relevant are a load of crap. All a good movie or franchise needs to stay relevant is to stay talked about and continue being shown on TV/streaming/whatever and get reprints. Its good appeal is enough to keep people loving it. The real reason for all these ungodly and over-milked remakes and sequels we get now is just plain old greed because new IPs don't seem to make enough money for these greedy Hollywood clowns, and killing off the old protags is a good way to completely change the IP beyond recognition while keeping the trademarked name for merchandising. Its the most shamelessly soulless and disrespectful form of movie making.

That ended up overshadowing the better Saluecami events too. I have one of the RPG books, Mask of the Pirate Queen, and it goes into more detail about the stupid TCW episode than it does the battle with the Nikto clone army. That gets like a sentence towards the end of the description of Saleucami and that's it. It changes the Wroonian colonists to Pantorans.

Honestly Zemeckis and Micheal J . Fox both need to be dead before they start looting the corpse of BTTF.

Michael J. Fox is reported to be one of the small number of actually nice people in Hollywood (though I guess as parkinsons started to set in he got scared and had a few tantrums) where people actually like him instead of just being being afraid of him. Add to that a degenerating disease, and all that would need to happen to kill a BTTF reboot would be MJF saying "I don't think its a good idea" and it'll be come toxic and no one will touch it. No one is going to stand astride the open grave of a nearly universally liked and take a shit inside.

He's got more money than he'll need, and almost as importantly, his condition precludes him finding new ways to burn it, so offers of money don't really matter. His legacy does, and he'd be unlikely to want to see the gender-swapped reboot where he's turned into cucked out hermit drinking green walrus milk.
The only leverage you'd get him would be a magic cure for parkinsons.

Gosh, how would they bastardise it if they were doing a sequel now?

I think they'd scrap the future of BTTF2. Have Marty say a line about it not being the future he visited from the 80s. His kids will not believe the Time Travel stories. Thinking it's akin to his dad's sci-fi writing. Maybe Marty turned the stories into novels.

The main character would be Marty and Jennifer's daughter Marlene (Possibly be Trans due to her being plated by MJF in BTTF2). Doc Brown will be the even more brilliant daughter of Emmet Brown played by Kristin Wiig. She will have built a new Delorian. However, it's got a much sleeker, modern looking time conversion.

Once she shows up and the kids learn the stories are true. Marlene will lecture Marty on his selfish use of time travel. "You could change anything in history and just made grandpa a rich successful author?" Marty will reflect that she's right.

Female Doc Brown will have come to get Marty's help, but he sends his SJW daughter instead because she knows more than he does. He trusts her to be more responsible.

Somehow Marty and Doc Browns travels in the original films have created a change in history that always ends up in a terrible future. They must go back and fix it.

They go on a mission to find clues. Past, future, different time periods. Losing the appeal of the limited time periods of the originals. It's just a spectacle of where they are. Often showing the horrible ways white people have been.

Eventually, in one of the past time periods, Marlene meets a black woman who is oppressed. Yet is very smart, well educated and seemingly has an intuitive understanding of the technology of the time machine. They discover that no matter what white men like Marty and Doc Brown did, it'll always lead to a disaster. It's not just their actions, but the actions of white men.

The black lady asks if things get better in the future, and they tell her no. They help her start a woke revolution in the past. Where everyone has present-day woke values except the white rulers. When they return to the present day, it's a Star Trek-like future.

I envy the BTTF fans. They got the perfect trilogy that didn’t need to be continued whereas Star Wars got milked hard since 2013 by Disney.

If only George listened to his old comments.

I'm sure this has already been discussed a hundred pages back, but is there any news on The Mandalorian Season 3? And for that matter, of the other series like the Ahsoka and Boba Fett shows? I'm curious as to what's going on with them considering Disney seemingly shot them all in the foot with the firing of Gina Carano and what little potential The Mandalorian's story had being ruined by the Sequel Trilogy being inevitably jammed in.

The reboot is just Marty going back to before he hit puberty to give himself hormone blockers so he can be the woman he discovered he was after their trip to the old west.

Shills. Literal fucking shills.

If you go to the r/IndianaJones Subreddit, it is awash in gaping-mouthed soy monkeys who are positively giddy about this movie coming out, and are already white knighting both Mangold and Kennedy, joining the choir of decrying haters as "abelist" for expressing skepticism about Ford's age, and already rejoicing at the possibility of the film wiping previous books and games from canon.

Never. Trust. A Consoomer.

Disney has now requested that Slave one have its name changed to Boba fett’s starship : https://www.jedinews.com/collecting/articles/disney-asks-for-slave-i-rename-to-boba-fetts-starship/
The reason for this is not explained but it’s very obvious that Disney thinks the mere mention of the world slave is not woke enough.
Imagine pandering so hard to a demographic that never cared about Star Wars in any meaningful number, great job Disney!

The Boba Fett show is premiering this fall and there hasn't been any new details about Mando season 3 or the Ahsoka show. As for the Sequels, Filoni's blatant disregard for established Disney canon in the Bad Batch leads me to believe that they're going to give up on making the lore consistent.

The Boba show seems to be going on as scheduled, however it seems that they want to make it an "origin story" set in Boba's youth (I assume that it will switch back and forth between the "present" and the "past)... and retcons galore likely await. Heck, maybe that's where we'll learn that Jango and Boba are actually trans... Filming for it already finished this month.

The other shitty spinoffs are in production limbo with the exception of the Kenobi show (which looks like is just going to be a tie-in for Rebels shit that will fuck up continuity in the eyes of the public even more as Obi-Wan gets hunted down on Tatooine where he's supposed to be living in secrecy, but consoomers will lap it up because of the PT and OT references...) and the Rogue One spinoff starring the mexican Kyle Katarn knockoff (which honestly isn't sounding all that great, so it could either fail or succeed).

There's also that really terrible sounding "Acolyte" show which has only just entered production and is set in the cringetastic High Republic era. So far Acolyte will have a female and LGBTQIAS2+BBQ-only main cast and they've already said that the people working on it don't know anything about SW, not even Disney Wars, and that the show's main focus is to maximize "diversity".

Aside from that, there's also some animated "Animatrix" thing going on that's also mostly set in the High Republic shit and sequel era, and each episode will be animated by a different studio... What a waste of Japanese studios. Only thing to come from it so far is a single still. Its supposed to premiere this year, but nothing's been said as of yet.

Nothing's been said about the Lando series starring Donald Glover, but its being made by the gay guy who made "Dear White People"... I love how Lucasfilm keeps hiring people with zero experience in scifi, fantasy or war to write for a scifi-fantasy-war franchise. And you know they're going to make Lando extra gay in this one.

Vanity Fair also revealed this month that another new movie is being produced by Kevin Feige alongside Kathleen Kennedy... No mention of a release.
