It's pretty shitty. I still don't understand why she waited until everyone died to kamikaze.
The OT is, in context, a campy 80's series of movies, but at least charming and original. Enough such that it is a passable series of movies. The expanded lore is interesting at least to read.
Qualifying that, everything else was utter and complete garbage and overall this is, overall, a mediocre scifi series revolving around space wizards. The plot is pretty formulaic, with some attempts at moral obscurity that fall apart on their own as the writers in charge show their ineptitude at fleshing out their ideas.

Some of the older Star Wars games were pretty good, especially Battlefront 2, the Jedi Knight/Dark Forces FPSes, KOTOR, and Republic Commando. For a while LucasArts and the devs they worked with such as Bioware, Raven, and Pandemic made some solid ass games.
Then towards the end of the 2000s they went to shit and right before the Disney buyout they were churning out crap like Kinect Star Wars and Star Wars became a cautionary tale on what happens when you milk a media franchise too hard:

The original trilogy are pretty okay Final Fantasy movies I guess.
I will note that SW: Battlefront and Battlefront 2 were best played with other players. The AI in those games was extremely dimwitted.
That being said, it was pretty dope in BF2 when you got to play as Vader or Luke.
The OG Thrawn trilogy was fun, and quite a few games still hold up.
But there are plenty of better space operas than SW as a whole.

I think a lot of the star wars hype is nostalgia. I had never seen any star wars movie until a few months ago. I got together with some friends and we watched the original trilogy. Before the movies they were super hyped and telling me how good they were. After I told them I didn't really like the movies and they all said yeah I can see why. I remembered them being a lot better.
