Steam Summer Sale 2020 - here we go again

  • Intermittent Denial of Service attack is causing downtime. Looks like a kiddie 5 min rental. Looking into some solutions.

Um, I bought Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, Watch Dogs 2 and Journey. The latter so I could get the total high enough to get the discount.

Yeah, I wait until games are super cheap.

Ugh, Watch Dogs 2 had the least likable main characters ever.

I had actually bought 3 games on Monday, but managed to get refunds and rebuy them at sale price, so I saved $20 which I then used to buy a couple more games.
My spoils so far, including the rebuys: LyraVR, Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, GravityLabs, Windlands 2, Deserts of Kharak, and Steep. (Yes, I just got a VR set recently.)
I don’t know that I’ll play Kharak much, but my friend loves it, so $5 to have it in my library seemed ok.

And I still have about $25 in my Steam wallet that I’m still debating how to use.

I might buy Squirrletopia. It's been on my wishlist forever and I dont remember why and its only 50 cents now.

The rest depends on what I see when I get home.

Wanted to buy Nier Automata but sadly it was not on sale because I'm already poor, so I bought Monster Hunter: World instead...

I've bought Rise of the Tomb Raider. I use to have it on Xbox but I couldn't stand the framerate.
What is the general opinion on Bordermemes 3?

Watch Dogs 2
The map is nice but the story is boring and the characters are unlikable.
Assassin's Creed: Odyssey
I didn't like the open world and the looter/shooter gameplay. I think they made it too big and it felt like a MMO but with the gameplay built around microtransactions/time savers.
Origins was way better.

I've just finished Origins, which I liked. It too is an open world looter/shooter. What's the difference?

I bought Baba is You, but then refunded it so I could buy it alongside Persona 4 and Levelhead and get the discount. Now, I’m just waiting for the money to be available in my Steam wallet.

I’m also considering buying one more game that’s about £4 or less, but I’m not sure what.

it's not on sale but it's the best game money can buy anyway

Is not that the game that Notch sperg every day?

In my book origin was easier if you abuse the guided arrow skill of the predator bow, that thing combined with DLC weapons made the game a breeze, it was toned down in Odyssey by making that every shot consume a skill bar so you dont just simple 360 no scope a entire fortress with it anymore

Sale sucks. That 5$ itch bundle from last week dumpsters this so hard and I'm still only like a third of the way through just trying things in it.

Bought Griftlands anyways because I'm a whore for deckbuilders. It's okay, could be better, but it's clearly early access and Klei has a good track record for turning games that are fairly bad in EA into great games with heavy mod support by the time they're finished, and this one's got all the hallmarks of being able to support a billion mods at once without major issues.

Also, seconding 'buy factorio'. If it looks at all appealing to you you won't be disappointed especially if you've got a SO or family member willing to play it multiplayer. It's a fantastic laid back shoot-the-shit-and-voicechat game.

I don't miss the days of the Flash sales, but these discounts are a sad state of affairs. There are some decent picks here and there, but nothing that would be a must-have for me.

If you do end up putting something in your cart, then check isthereanydeal.com first. The exact same product might be for sale someplace else at a better price. All of their links are to legitimate businesses. Just make sure to see if the CD-Key will be available to activate in your region.
