On its face, it seems like a reasonable policy. Racial discussion isn't relevant to his content and derails quickly. Moderating a YouTube channel's comments takes a lot of time and energy when it's at all popular, and Steve's a one-man show.

But there are a lot of ways to explain that, some of which make sense and some of which raise the hair on the back of one's neck. There's a difference between banning people for comments about China treating their troops as disposable (w/r/t the PLA rations), versus just nuking "lol chinks" comments.
