Probably not anything close to "hired," unless possibly there were minor payments. High odds are there's that troon cabal inside Reddit involved with all the troon powermods and who got Chancellor hired so easily, and some of them are in contact with him - troons love exploiting and abusing other troons. Every time they talk "Oh, we'll get you an official position soon enough, but right now you are doing the dirty noble job that only you can do." And they go talk to the non-troon, money side of Reddit and try to use his (filtered) antics as an example of the overall userbase's opinion.
That's all nutty conjecture, but the Chancellor thing has gotten me more fascinated by whatever troonery is happening in the background there. It's got to be horrifying and hilarious, but we won't know unless somebody leaks it.
Don't know about a troon cabal, but I strongly suspect that the trannie in the pictures below on the right with the dress and long dark brown hair is the one who got the League of Extraordinary Trolls introduced to Reddit HQ and is the one making sure they get a pass and their accounts immediately reinstrated no matter how many times they are found to be breaking the rules and are reported to the Admins for it. Whenever an Admins applies the Rules objectively and bans a League Troll - as has happened to Bardfinn himself three times already - I bet this asshole is the one who taps that Admin on the shoulder, "Um, not that one", and boom, the account is immediately restored.
I have asked whether anyone recognizes him or knows who he is but no one has stepped forward to identify him.

No, it's not remotely comparable because KF is not trying to censor anyone. The purpose of Bardfinn's blacklist is censorship. His excuse for blacklisting all these people is that he supposedly "has" to do it as part of his moderating duties. However, it's not about moderating his own subs but controlling the discourse on Reddit itself by getting all his enemies banned. And it's not just about censorship on Reddit but censoring these ideological opponents across the whole internet. These SJW keyboard-warriors do not just want to ban their opponents on Reddit, they want to ban them from the internet itself. That's why they attack anyone who tries to set up an alternative social media platform. Bardfinn has accounts on both Saidit.net and Ruqqus.com which are two Reddit alternatives that people moved to after the purges of 2020. Why did Bardfinn join those sites after sending all his enemies there? Because he cannot not spy on all these people. He is obsessed with them and has to follow them across the internet when they go to other sites, so he can continue targeting them there and continue catalogueing them. He won't stop his obsessive cyberstalking until these people are driven off the internet itself.
So I just finished reading the thread (long overdue, btw) and from what I can gather, Bardfinn wants 100k a year for doing the grunt work of being a Reddit moderator. Not an admin (those "hard-working" code monkeys), but an actual moderator who does nothing but remove posts he disagrees with (oh, you powertripping tranny, you).
