I heard a rumor that Rebecca Sugar seems to be pushing more for the pairing of Lapis and Steven when it comes to shipping the former. It would be her chance to do a poly relationship and ease off the hetero factor with the Steven x Connie relationship. (They can make Connie bisexual.)

As for you moment of sanity, here's a post I found about what Steven Universe's real appeal is...
You are completely right about Steven Universe's viewership. I babysit quite a bit, for extended periods of time. The kids never want to watch Steven Universe, asking me to turn the channel or put on Gravity Falls instead. I've asked them why, and they always say that they don't get it or that it is boring. They love Gravity Falls because of the fantasy elements and the humor. While the show was airing, I'd help them decipher the codes at the end of episodes and they would start theorizing and playing as the characters. Kids aren't stupid, they aren't falling for the progressive brainwashing because it's not written for children. It's written with progressives in mind, and kids see straight through that shit.

I don't see this happening. Not long ago, there was a niche of the fandom that shipped Steven with another Gem, Peridot. A writer responded to that with something like "lol nope they're just friends. Steven's too young" (since Gems are always "adults" and don't age like humans.)

:optimistic:If the show wanted to push pro-polyamory agenda, at least there wouldn't be any underage participants.:optimistic:

Ugh. She's so sterotypically Tumblr that it's embarassing. Makes it more sad that she's pushing 30.

Tumblr and it's associated hangers-on sites like DA may be nothing more than a way to permanently and righteously defer one's childhood.

"I won't be an adult until the world is deserving of me. Right now, its so sexist and racist, I would only be encouraging inequality be becoming an average non political worker drone"

Not that being an artist with an easy-access hugbox CREATES that kind of person, but it's' easy to see where it could reinforce one already heading that way.

That "Profile" Takes me back to the LOLRANDUM days of Deviantart when Invader Zim was still airing.

It's part of a current "Meet the Artist" meme going around Tumblr/Twitter where artists draw themselves and the stuff they carry, and a list of likes/dislikes. Sort of like a ref sheet but for the artist themself instead of their character.

It's provided some lovely portraits in varying styles, but Zuke's here is like...crumpled up napkin scribble lazy.

"Meet the Artist" isn't really a bad concept, but depending on the artist (and their personality).. it doesn't bode well. Zuke's shouldn't be an exception due to how lazy and poor of quality it was. Others are usually either cringy, informative to the point of oversharing or both.

((Few pull it off where you have a brief idea of the artist, but not all up in your face or overtly cringy or TMI-ish. Besides, that sort of thing has been known for about a decade if I recall correctly. The "what's in my bag" part was added in much later, I believe.))
