Study: MLB's balls are not juiced but aerodynamically different - can baseballs melt steel beams?

Basically there has been a sharp increase in home runs in the MLB since 2015. Along with that, baseball spergs have hatched an interesting array of theories ranging from people altering "juicing" baseballs to make them fly further, to athletes finding new alternative performance enhancing drugs that can't be detected by modern testing methods. So they actually got scientists to investigate this phenomenon. I'll summarize the findings and you can conspiracy sperg your own conclusions

They don't believe baseballs are being "juiced" but concede they are flying further. They don't believe weather is a factor. They also ruled out it being seams affecting drag and lift, or an issue with changes to the ball's core. They don't think batter launch angle or pitching strategy is responsible either...

They don't know.... WHY...

Batters are swinging for the yard more often now. I bet to coincide with the HR increase, there's an increase in some strikeout stat. Most likely swinging on a 3rd strike. I know the top HR hitters are always at the top of the SO lists too.

Probably just guys trying to crush the ball every at bat.

Well like with sabermetrics managers are trying to load up the bases with guys who can prove they can get on base, and then put their most consistent HR hitter on the plate, to score the most runs. So it could be just more pressure on pitchers to try to end these fucking guys, but giving them chances.

Its like basketball right now. There are an absurd amount of 3pt shots being taken compared to the past. It's just the way the game is evolving.

I'm going to be honest, I only watch basketball when it's on the TV next to the other sports game I'm watching at the bar. It seems like it's all just super teams dominating and not really worthy entertainment.

iirc Alex Rodriguez has a strike-related stat similarly high to his whatever hit-related stat he's known for.

As you can tell I'm quite the squaresticks expert.

Yeah, the NBA has zero parity and college isn't really any better. The MLB feels that way too, but then when September rolls around the superstars implode and bad teams get really hot and it's fun
