Feedback Suggestion: happening blotter -

I have actually found the notice to be really helpful to keep up with the stuff that's been going down for a front-page faggot like me. The featured thread covers a topic-du-jour, but the little updates very often fall through the cracks and I wind up missing a lot.

I propose a blotter of sorts where staff or supervisors can share updates to fresh content in a manner similar to the current public notice.

This would perhaps be similar to the "did you know...?" Box that Encyclopedia Dramatica has referring to news topics on their forums.

I think this can be implemented in two ways:

• A side box next to the recent and updated threads boxes
• A CNN-style scrolling marquee (Kiwi News Network!)

Im thinking the box would contain updates from the last 15-30 days of updates.

If it's huge, there could be a "jump to content" link at the top that scrolls you past it to the forum listings
