I'm sure it hurts greatly.

Hmm, doesn't sound too bad. Mainly because the NA audience will get more love from Sunrise. Hopefully more games and gunpla too. This video talks about this upcoming adaption albeit poorly titled:
Description: Sunrise (creators of the Gundam franchise) president Yasuo Miyakawa has come to talk about the upcoming live action Gundam movie they're making with Legendary Pictures. He revealed many new details about not only the story, but also the creative process and how they're going about making the film. They're making sure they do not repeat the same mistakes previous anime live actions have done, and it's looking like Sunrise has a lot of control over the production. He's going to make sure it follows the basic principles of gundam and that it's not going to be a typical western action movie. Lastly, he revealed why they were making a live action gundam movie at this time and many gundam and gunpla fans all over the world should be very happy right now.

Entertainment news website Deadline reported on Wednesday that comic book author Brian K. Vaughan (Y: The Last Man, Ex Machina, Runaways) will write the script for Sunrise and Legendary Picture's live-action Hollywood Gundam film. Vaughan will also serve as an executive producer for the film.![]()
Legendary's executive vice president of production Cale Boyter (Pokémon: Detective Pikachu producer) will oversee the project. Boyter appeared with Bandai Namco Holdings president and representative director Mitsuaki Taguchi at Anime Expo in July to announce the adaptation. Robert Napton, former Bandai EntertainmentDirector of Marketing and Legendary Comics' current Senior Vice President of Publishing, moderated the panel segment about the live-action film project.
The "Gundam Franchise's New Work Unveiling" event in April had listed a tentatively titled Mobile Suit GundamUC2 (Kidō Senshi GundamUC2) project that would have an "overseas drama" format. The listing said the project takes place in Universal Calendar 0104 and would launch in 2022.
After showing the listing at the April event, the Sunrise Studio's emcee and one of the event's guests, Gundam Unicorn novelist Harutoshi Fukui, quickly told the audience to "pretend you didn't see that" visual.

Looking it up, Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative is in UC. 0097 (one year later) is based on the 11th (?!) Gundam Unicorn novel and the conflict is between an alliance of the Federation and Neo Zeon (I thought The Sleeves were the remnants of Neo Zeon?) and the return of Unicorn Gundam 03 Phenex (Gold colored one) and was a movie released in Japan on November 30 2018. I have no idea if the Japanese Gundam fanboys asked for thisSo this is an adaption of the original TV show right? Or just part of it and they're hoping for a sequel? Although I'd laugh if they gave as Stardust Memory or Zeta for the sequel.
What's this supposed to be? A Unicorn sequel (which nobody needs)? "Overseas drama?" Sunrise should stop jerking off UC already unless they're going to finally get around to Late UC and put Crossbone Gundam on TV and do more with the F91 era.
Yeah strap in for a bunch more Unicorn-related stuff for a while. Narrative brings up the idea that the Neo-Zeong has something Really Bad from that entropy space that Full Frontal showed Banana, and it also makes Ideon noises. Also Unicorn maybe can rewind time or something. So my thought is they're probably going to have a bunch of shit happen to remove all the Unicorn era crap from the timeline so F91 can continue as plannedLooking it up, Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative is in UC. 0097 (one year later) is based on the 11th (‽) Gundam Unicorn novel and the conflict is between an alliance of the Federation and Neo Zeon (I thought The Sleeves were the remnants of Neo Zeon?) and the return of Unicorn Gundam 03 Phenex (Gold colored one) and was a movie released in Japan on November 30 2018. ...What? Well that sounds like it could easily surpass Iron-Blooded Orphans ending that made that series the most WTF/Stupid/Waste of time in the extended franchise (the ending is so bad Gundam Seed Destiny and most if not all other previous low points in the whole Gundam franchises even a little less bad in )comparisonYeah strap in for a bunch more Unicorn-related stuff for a while. There better be an Ideon reference somewhere in there. Like an MP Unicorn which looks like a GM which somehow gets all the power or some shit.Yeah strap in for a bunch more Unicorn-related stuff for a while. I appreciate IBO's ending for being such a cold dose of realism. Like getting ice water dumped over you. In a way, it's the exact opposite of Unicorn's insane ending....What? I need to double-check the claim of the sound effect for myself, but yeah the implication seems to be that Char's ghost brought back something bad (and maybe Ide-related) from that void of darkness, and that Full Frontal put it in the Neo Zeong. There better be an Ideon reference somewhere in there. Legendary Entertainment and Jordan Vogt-Roberts (Kong: Skull Island) are teaming for a live-action Gundam movie at Netflix.
Details related to the project are in short supply at this time, though we do know that Brian K. Vaughan (Y: The Last Man, Runaways, Paper Girls, Saga) is writing the script and serves as an executive producer. The live-action adaptation of the uber-popular anime series will stream on Netflix globally except in China where Legendary will distribute the film. Cale Boyter is overseeing the project for Legendary and the original Gundam studio, Sunrise. Jason Young, who directed the original Gundam film at Netflix, will also serve as an overseer. Created by Yoshiyuki Tomino and Sunrise, Gundam is often described as a space opera depicting a battle waged between massive mechs and armies of space colonies fighting for independence from Earth. Packed with epic action and compelling characters, Gundam has remained a favorite of the anime community for generations.
Seeing as it's early days for this announcement, it has yet to be confirmed in Vogt-Roberts' film will take place in the Universal Century (the same timeline the original Gundam anime is set in). Some already suspect that Gundam could take place in Legendary's Monsterverse. Personally, I think that's a bit of a stretch, but stranger things have happened. After all, giant mechs would be the perfect accompaniment to titanic kaiju, no? Can't you just imagine Godzilla going toe-to-toe with a Gundam? That would be epic AF!
We'll be sure to bring you more details as this high-profile project comes together.
Just give me Super Robot Wars where I can use a Gundam to BTFO the mechasauruses from Getter Robo. Yeah, fuck you, you mecha-pterosaur, eat a fucking beam rifle and BTW have a beam saber. Fuck dinosaurs. An update after some time:
