The new gadgets on her wrists are super revealing. She's scared. I think she's afraid of not waking up or not having anything to alert her, if she's having a medical emergency and needs a way to gauge how serious it is. She's likely in so much chronic pain, she can't tell if her foot is falling asleep, or rotting off her body at this point.

Most people would probably endure the discomfort and just see a doctor/heed their advice/make some immediate changes. Not Amber. She's gonna put a little bandaid on the issues and throw money at her problems, and avoid-deny-bury until she finds herself in cardiac arrest. Doctors aren't miracle workers. Medicine isn't a cure-all. She complains about her anxiety over her health, but she's slowly creeping towards a scenario in which nothing and nobody can save her. Her Youtube fortune, in theory, could buy her some time right now, if she wasn't so committed to throwing it away on absolute trash.

At this point, someone just needs to love her enough to put a goddamn lock on the fridge.

I agree. I wish I could pick her brain to see exactly how her mind works because her level of avoidance and denial is simply incredible. When the fateful day comes where she eventually suffers a major medical emergency, I don't think she (nor Becky, nor Eric) understands that there's not going to be a guarantee that she can be saved. It makes her fear of death quite fascinating for someone who's doing absolutely nothing to slow down the inevitable.

ETA: it almost feels like she's waiting for a major emergency to happen and expecting that to be her official rock bottom/wake up call. The problem is her situation is already dire. And when that emergency takes place she's not going to have the luxury of time to reflect on her (very few remaining) options.

Watching her interact with Eric...it's sad how she's surrounded with such naive people who don't know any better. Eric just seems so incredibly blind to it all. I think, because she still manages to act vibrant and okay and like everything is alright, and not like she's in constant agony and suffering on the daily, he and others take her at face value and go along with it because it's placating and easy to do while ignoring her obvious deterioration.

What's it going to be like for him, I wonder, to wake up to a panicked Becky because she found Amber not breathing one day. Reality is going to be a bitch.

admits she already used the apple watch for voice texting (becky, no doubt, to pick up some unhealthy food on the way home)
Apple watches by default will pester you to get off you ass and move around every hour or so if you been just sitting. I wonder how long she’s going to put up with that before she just takes the thing off and pops into a drawer
"NO ONE TELLS ME WHAT TO DO!!! NECKY GO GET ORAMGE CHINKUM NNNOOOWWWW!!!!!!!!!!"
Looks like we were both kind of right? It told her to get off her ass so she texted Becky to get fucking food to make her feel better for not moving from eating too much.

Brilliant.

I do agree, but it's interesting what she does. It's almost as if she thinks getting these gadgets will be the magic fix. Kind of like the diet doctor, the singing doctor, the psychiatrist, Optavia, WW, etc. Hot take incoming: THERE IS NO MAGIC BULLET FOR THIS SHIT. Eat less, move more. Period, end of story. There is nothing else that does it. Keto works for some because they can adapt easily to the lifestyle. This can be applied over the ridiculous amounts of "diets" these folks try. At the end of the day restriction is the name of the game, you just choose what to restrict. At least at her size. She's nowhere near physical exercise. She's got to restrict and lose weight and then a physical fitness plan should be brought to the table.

It doesn't matter what us haydurrrsss say, she won't do anything remotely healthy for herself. So we just sit here and point and laugh.

Unless Al has had her BMR calculated professionally (doubtful) I'm not sure where she gets the 2,800 BMR from...

Claimed Weight 565lbs
View attachment 910967

Likely weight 600lbs
View attachment 910970

This really shows the sheer amount of calories she needs purely to maintain, but as we see, she's gaining
Is this yet another attempt to look like more of a dainty gorl? I can only guess it must be, unless she's sticking to a BMR from a much lower weight

She is probably going by what the Apple watch says for BMR. FitBit does the same, or at least estimates the calories you would burn if you just laid in bed all day. Thats why when you wake up it says you have burned 1700 calories or whatever because it is estimating based on what you normally burn.

Anywhooo, that BMR tool is probably grossly innaccurate for someone Hamber's size. Just like BMI, it is a tool to estimate based on the normal sized average person. Not someone the size of Harambe (rip).

She would need some intense testing to find out how much she actually burns.

TLDR: Doesnt matter what her BMR is, she is not going to stop eating so....

Eric doesn't give two shits about her. Hard to say if it's naivete or willful indifference, but I think many people in his position would choose to be blind, living with someone like Amber. He's just the roommate that has to endure her bullshit. The responsibility of care really falls on Becky. And Becky's care amounts to holding the casket door open for her lady. Those Southern manners, y'all!

Honestly, I bet Eric is LOVING the positive attention right now, even at her expense. He's hearting a lot of comments too, but it's pretty interesting that he never comes to her defense. He could if there was any sense of loyalty there. There clearly isn't. He's jerking off the cow, just like every peripheral character in AL's life. He has no audience without her, after all. People only tune in for Rickie or a whale sighting.

But I totally agree--reality is gonna be a bitch, when the inevitable happens.

This is what I've been thinking for a while. She probably fixates on celebrities who "had the big one" and survived and lived to change their lives and talk about it. She doesn't think about the ones who didn't survive to talk about it. She's just waiting for that heart attack she survives, and then she'll know there's no more delaying, excuses, etc. and then she'll be so motivated that the weight will just fall right off. No need to worry till the little heart attack situation dealy.

There's probably little chance she'd survive whatever rock bottom she's waiting for, and maybe that rock bottom will be a stroke and she'll lose use of half her body or something even worse. Yeah, she'll survive, but she'll wish she hadn't.

Instead of waiting for that day, or buying an apple watch instead of medical testing, she should just learn how close to the coffin she actually is, and what she can do about it.

I started following because I was fascinated by how someone could live and function at her size, at this point, the most fascinating thing is how someone in her condition insists on remaining so oblivious to their serious health condition.

As people mentioned before your Apple Watch does pester you. It also tracks your heart rate when you check in, sitting and resting too. The activity app is broken up into calories burned (this is the amount she set it’s usually suggested you start around 200-300), exercise or calories burned with an elevated heart rate and stand which is when it tells you to get off your ass and move for at least a minute every hour. If you don’t meet your calorie goal every week it’ll suggest you lower it too. It’s lower then Fitbit movement calculations on average so she’ll probably get mad when it gives her a better idea of how little she burns, and no shaking it doesn’t just give you steps. It also breaks down your movement into flights of stairs, steps and miles done and gives you achievement things when you meet goals.

And before she claims she can’t, you have the option to post your results to social media.

I really don't believe that whatever major medical emergency happens will make Hamber see that shes hit rock bottom. She's so in denial that she will make some excuse(s) if she survives the first one to continue on as usual.

Someone I know is super morbidly obese, not quite Hambers size but still. He went on an almost entirely liquid diet and then became seriously ill with some kind of blood infection (doctors told him he was close to death) and couldn't eat solids for weeks. Lost a ton of weight during his hospital stay and when he got released he told me "lifes to short to diet, so I'm going to eat whatever I want from now on" regained all he lost and more. Thats the kind of shit I can hear come out of Ham's mouth when something does happen to her.

@Commiechu lol wait are you saying your fatty friend got a blood infection from going on a liquid diet, and then was unable to eat solid foods? Isn't that the ultimate fatty irony?

Well one difference is that the Apple Watch won’t track your sleep since the battery only lasts a day. The FitBit, however lasts almost a week so it can actually track sleep. Hambeast probably wasn’t even aware of this when she bought the Apple watch which is another reason why it will end up in her smart watch pile after a couple of days.
When Amberlynn first got a Fitbit she said the main reason she wanted it was to track her sleep but then claimed she had to take it off at night to charge (LAAAH). Looks like now she'll have the same excuse but it will make more sense.

@Blotto @Mr. Ghoul and to anybody with an Apple watch, would you mind talking a little bit more about how it tracks/monitors heart function and how it tracks sleep? TIA

I don’t track my sleep but as far as heart rate it checks in every 10 minutes or so and you have three charts. One for the current rate, resting and walking. It displays the ups and downs throughout the day and you can get the data from the health app on an iPhone. There it breaks it down into days, weeks, months and yearly charts where it logs general vitals, heart rate variability and walking average. It’ll also tell you how many times you get an alert for high or lowheart rate or afib, and you can add things on to check ekgs and blood pressure. The best thing that could be done is using these tools for amber to share with her doctor so they could see the impact of her heart rate on a day to day basis. Of course, amber doesn’t regularly see doctors so it’s a moot point. But very useful if you care to keep track.
