You'd love my regular/preferred sushi join, there's actual style to each of the chefs that works there, so you know who's there, even if you're not up at the sushi bar.I like places where the chef has a signature style and occasionally varies his rolls.
I'm trying to get myself into Sushi, its such an expensive food though.
There are a lot of places that do $1 plates, too. Sushi, especially in the highly Asian-populated areas of the Pacific Northwest, is pretty much a diet staple now for broke college students who need real food. It's really not though. You can get your fill of sushi for the same price that you'd pay for a normal meal at a mediocre restaurant. If you're with a few people that eat it you can order a variety and try them all.
Those are children and weak/old people and don't matter. Your opinion is badHearing of the stories of those who got sick or died from eating raw fish, I would never touch sushi personally.
You guys need to get gud at sushi.

I don't even know where to begin with this thread. I'm always disappointed with people's opinions on sushi because they are uninformed, but I'm here to educate people who want to venture outside of their supermarket California rolls.
-Fresh salmon/yellowtail nigiri is divine.
-if you actually care about sushi, real sushi and how it tastes and not just stuffing your fat fucking face with carbs, don't order anything described as "crunchy"
-what's labelled "super white tuna" or sometimes just "white tuna" is not always tuna, it's escolar. Escolar is delicious but can sometimes hurt your stomach. Still worth it imo because it is delicious, just mislabeled.
-protip, that probably no one here will get because you're all plebs: if a place sells fried salmon or Hamachi (yellowtail) collar or other parts, they have very fresh salmon/yellowtail sushi and sashimi.
This seems to be rampant, lots of fish are passed off as other fish.Warning: fake shit is often sold as red snapper. It's hard to avoid this because it's the distributors that are doing it mainly. Also tilapia, pretty much a cheap trash fish, is substituted for all kinds of things.
