Underestimated Nutria

If you're like me, you've regretted your lack of familiarity with important classical music. I propose we listen to a couple symphonies a week, make some comments, however uninformed, and try to enjoy ourselves. I want to begin with Gustav Holst's "The Planets" because it is well-known, melodic enough to be understood even by the musically ungifted like me, and has a long history of being extremely well-appreciated by the general public. Aspects of it, especially from "Mars" have featured in many places, so it will undoubtedly strike you as intensely familiar.
In a few days, depending on response, we'll do another symphony. Any suggestions?
