Guy's as you know Phil has recently acquired a new tablet, now curiosity got the better of me and I have been trying to work out what he's got well @DragoonSierra asked where he was taking his pictures in the gender of the day thread so far my investigations had proved fruitless then I recalled his often forgotten Tumblr, and that Tumblr doesn't strip the image metadata.

On April the 23 he posted this picture to prove that he had his medical treatment paid for.

His Tablet is now identified as a Amazon Fire HD6, but sadly it's not geo tagging the images.

I investigated the other images he's posted recently - including the now infamous pinworm he call's a stich when he shoved his ball's back inside his body.

He seems to take the majority of his images in the afternoon around 1pm - 6pm all using his new tablet of fail, as his obamaphone isn't capable of accessing the net or have a data connection.

You can take a look at the metadata yourself by running the images through this website http://regex.info/exif.cgi

Of all the tablets he picks a shitty Kindle Fire.

$69.99 new, though you can find it for almost half that used.

Knowing Phil - I was expecting a Samsung Tablet or alike you can get a fairly decent one for around $100 with a SD card slot, I think Phil just chose the most accessible one (not that there is anything inherently wrong with that) and didn't give a damn about the specifications my best guess is this is a intermediary device that he's hoping to trade up from at some point.

Its perfect for what he does with it why does he need a better one?

Basic consumeristic lust mostly, Phil lusts after some things even though the version he has of something is perfectly suited to him just because the new one is bigger and flashier - he's just not able to afford anything he'd really like like a samsung tab or a ipad even older second hand models cost more than that thing does new.

The thing is a tablet is a arguably more useful device for him than a phone it allows him more access to the internet (depending on wifi) than his phone and it would allow him to theoretically apply for jobs etc but still there is a problem he's carrying a device that's got a rather shitty battery life and rather odd customised version of Android on it that you have a hard time getting non amazon provided app's to run on.

If Phil genuinely wanted a idea tablet to fit in with his homeless lifestyle he'd have to look into something like this - https://www.meetearl.com however that project is nearly dead in the water at the moment but if I had to have a computing device and I was homeless I'd get something like that rather than any tablet like a kindle, samsung tab or ipad.

Sorry to add to this again but Samsung offer a rugged tablet that would tick all of Phil's box's The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active, the starting RRP in the UK is £250 for the basic version and £350 for the 4G version that he could lash a PAYG data sim in that would give him full access to a real version of android, full access to the google suite of applications (an any other's he'd like from the play store) and upgradeable memory and it's a bit of equipment that's DESIGNED to have a hard life.

Are there other more robust devices out there? Sure there are that just happens to be a acceptable both in availability and price that's hard wearing that would tick all his box's and he's be able to fit it into his budget if he didn't have a tattoo that month.

That's awfully expensive man. It might legit be out of his price range.

Not really the US price has come way down I have just been looking at it online and when it was launched it was $500, now it's about $200 - $250 new depending on where you look - that's about his monthly scribble budget.

If you just did a £ to $ conversion using google you have to recall that in the UK we pay anyware from 1/3 more for our electronic devices than you do in the states with VAT ontop, so that's not really a good comparison of prices.

I find it odd he didn't just buy an old iPhone model, a tablet for a homeless person doesn't seem like a good idea in regards to potential thieves.

There is a few reasons for that:
1) He just wanted a Tablet.
2) Phil doesn't do second hand.
3) Phil didn't think the idea through to begin with.

Although with point 3 he avoids other homeless people like the plague they scare the shit out of him for the most part, so other homeless bums taking it from his bag is less of a problem than you might think and he doesn't carry it around openly in his had he pull's it out in places he deems safe like cafe's an libary's, and ANOTHER point to consider he's not as homeless as he claims he'd not got a fixed address but he's not sleeping under a bridge every night.

A man who eats food out of dumpsters doesn't buy second hand goods?

I guess you need to have Phil levels of autism to understand that logic.
