Jimmy Dore makes the same mistakes Zak is making. He makes the occasional critique but still prefaces it with platitudes and capitulation "I'm still leftist but y'know maybe corps have too much power over left wing debate. But also some people are still mysoggyknees and problematic." He still uses the dumb leftist language and group think. And still thinks he's part of the club despite being completely disowned. These people are all still so in the cult they have a cognitive disonance over what caused them to be ostracized. My point is they SHOULDN'T believe in tenets that actively contributed to their downfall but they do.

My guess, and I say that as someone who's largely ignorant of RPGs, that the ease of making a RPG (if you can make a .pdf, you can make a RPG) means that people will make and publish things without input from the gatekeepers.
Lol at the idea that they would bother to study literature or another culture for their campaign. At most they’d watch Disney’s Aladdin and call it a night. A lot of the GM groups/forums/hangouts/etc are incredibly lazy now. They loathe the idea of doing research and ironically they’re projecting onto older GMs their prejudices. A fair number of younger gms are obsessed with “beating” their players too like they’re doing some moba or other BS. It’s pathetic.
I would like to point out that Aladdin, particularly the cartoon, is considered "problematic" these days by a lot of these people. I have no fucking idea why.
True, but despite calling it problematic a lot of them are obsessed with Disney (and with trying to push Disney farther to the left). Moreso a lot of them would probably just do their “research” on critiques of the cartoon by fellow activists rather than dive into the culture and literature themselves.
I’m paraphrasing, but the idea is along the lines of:

That's the moral of the story, though. Aladdin wished for riches so he could try to impress Jasmine (since the Genie couldn't make anyone fall in love). It wasn't the riches that did it. He was wrong, and he recognized it as part of his character development.
I saw it 20 years ago, so I have little recollection.
I read through the essay he wrote in it's entirety even though that was hard at times. He claims he's writing a tell all about VtM when in actuallity it's just one long whine post about how he was cancelled even though he's still a good progressive and it's paramount that the tranny who cancelled him forgive him publicly so he can be accepted again. It's actually quite sickening. Zak doesn't care that other people lost their jobs around him. Just that he was affected and he is deserving of absolution. So he can go back to cancelling others he doesn't like.
