Basic setting instantly turned me off to this [ ... ] since it always comes off as preachy bullshit from hypocrites.
Shame, since sword and sorcery with superscience is a fun setting, but the hippy bullshit kills most of the interest I have.
And here I was hoping it would be a Rifts that wouldn't overload a room full of autists with how autistic the rules are. Instead we get... hippies. To quote one Eric Cartman, "Goddamn hippies!"Shame, since sword and sorcery with superscience is a fun setting, but the hippy bullshit kills most of the interest I have.
There's a few major examples of it working, at least in premise.I'm usually very iffy on Magic-meets-Superscience - its very fun when done right, but very rarely is it done right.
I like the possibilities of their quest mechanic; it sounds like you have the option of picking up litter until the fell creature stalking the woods is put back to sleep by Gaia or just killing it. I am always for things that give you multiple ways to advance. But like you, this reaks of hypocritical hippie bullshit.
While I welcome being proved wrong, I'm not going to sign up and pay for the privilege of finding out.
How can you not mention the notorious, the infamous... Rifts.Who knew TSR actually stood for Tranny Slaying Republicans?
There's a few major examples of it working, at least in premise.
Dino Riders
Masters of The Universe
Xenozoic Tales
Might and Magic
Don't you be badmouthing Rifts.Does anyone actually play Rifts? Somebody is obviously buying the books, but I've never heard even the edgiest weirdos talking about it
