I found this particularly interesting site rummaging through a tumblr page. At first I thought the person was just joking about these two but once I started doing some digging I realized that these fuckers are pretentious and obnoxious as fuck; say hello to Michael Samyn and Auriea, the 'partners' of Tale of Tales.
Of course they're game developers with so many fresh and wondrous ideas it'd be a pity not to delve deep into their back log of super popular games that tend to get great reviews from big names and then fall short with actual fans.
Metacritic reviews for Sunset, the game that got them to quit (more on that later).
Now you're wondering why I find the two so abrasive, right? If you checked out the reviews it's already apparent that they think little of the gaming community and instead focus more in the 'artistic' approach to gaming; something that can be done correctly, of course, but not something that can carry a game for long if there's nothing else to go with great visuals.
No, these two twat waffles caught my eye because of their asinine dual Patreon pages; that's right, each of them have a Patreon page asking for outrageous sums of money.
Link to his Patreon, read up, you'll feel his pain.
And the link to her Patreon, they're so supportive of one another!
"So MD", as all you cool fuckers like to call me, "how are these shitstains any different from the usual welfare hippies I'm used to seeing?" I'm glad you asked that, massive hivemind amalgamation. While most Patreon folk generally like to just beg or produce to get the mad skrilla these two game up making games; now they want you to fund them while they try and 'redesign' themselves into all encompassing art group. That sure sounds awesome, right? Until you see that they want that money to 'fund' themselves and of course take inspirational vacations so they can get super cool ideas! It's only gonna cost three grand a month! Well, just for Auriea page. Micheal wants six grand so he can afford to corroborate with other artists...what a goddamn awesome deal, right?
Now why would these two successful lovebirds need help from the community to help fund their endeavors? Maybe because they treat their fans like filth? Perhaps because they like the idea of not having to actually work and still make money? Perchance they see other game developers make it work and decided twelve grand in total is what it takes to get your ass in gear? Stop sitting here and starting doling out your hard earned cash or else you won't be able to enjoy games like this ever again;
Haha, did I say make more games? Oh hell no, shitty gamers ruined games for them. Now they want you to fund ideas; as in pay us to sit around and be creative and we'll show you what we come up with...maybe a game, maybe a piece of art...or maybe just sit at home and fuck around on twitter all day! but we can do it because of you!
