First article for you is something near and dear to your heart. Try and write a Kenneth Engelhardt article. Use his full name (middle name if you know it, I think you do) as the title. Add in a few pictures, write about his obsession with lolcows, and describe (in depth) his lack of talent, his failed attempts at employment and marriage. Try not to make it sound like a hit piece, though.

Yeah, I think I can do that. Like I mentioned before, I'm a little rusty on wikicode, but after staring at the coding of those templates for a while it's really starting to come back to me, haha.

The twitter and video templates might take a little while to complete, because like I mentioned in a PM, I'm working every day this week except Thanksgiving, but I should be able to find time to make significant progress on the rest.

One thing I'm wondering is what we want to go for in terms of aesthetics. I work(ed) on basically the most autistic wiki ever, where everything is color-coded and with thick rounded borders and templates for everything (the templates basically all have brightly colored backgrounds/borders). I don't think we'd want something that extreme, but do we want to do any sort of styling beyond the Wikimedia default?

Also, do you want any templates for easily linking to Wikipedia/CWCki/ED/other lolcow wiki articles, (eg. {{cwcki|Christian Weston Chandler}} to link to http://sonichu.com/cwcki/Christian_Weston_Chandler) or would those not see enough use to be worth it?

That'd be super cool. We could add those neat little off-site linking icons, too.

I'm not sure on the theme, actually. I really like the Papers, Please style and I think it adds a cool overtone to the entire wiki, but if people disagree, please let me know and I'll find something else.

I just created Template:ED, I thought it might be the most useful to start with given ED's tendency to occasionally jump top-level domains at the drop of a hat. Not sure if that's the syntax I should be using, but it should work for now.

@Null , I'm not super-experienced with the inner workings of a wiki, but maybe you should consider taking a look at Extension:Interwiki? Not sure if it would help with this or just make things more difficult, haha.

Sounds good. I think tempaltes are a good way to go.

If I add this, the prefix would be long-names. [[EncyclopediaDramatica:Vade]], for instance. {{ED|Vade}} is better.

The reason I asked is because I looked at the coding for interwiki templates on the other wiki I staff at and they all used interwiki prefixes (eg. the coding for Template:wp was [[wp:{{{1}}}|{{{2|{{{1}}}}}}]]). It didn't make much sense to me, it just seemed like an unnecessary extra step, but it's possible that it's a workaround for some sort of issue we haven't yet foreseen?

So in case something does go wrong, maybe keep it in mind. For now I'll just keep doing it the way I have it. What other sites should I make interwiki templates for? CWCki, Gamerfood wiki??

Just Sonichu.com, Wikipedia, and ED. We will replace the Gamerfood wiki.

The template ensures that if anything happens from a coding perspective, the templates all still work.

If [[wp:]] becomes [[Wikipedia:]], or just [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ ], it still works everywhere.

The template accepts two arguments: Article, and optionally, Name.

I've created Template:WP and Template:CWCki (and also created the documentation for them). I wasn't sure if the latter should be called Template:CWC instead, just to be that much shorter, but in case that needed to stay free for some other template (not sure what though, since we're not going to be covering Chris in-depth) I went with CWCki.

I'm going to be cranking out as many Jace/Tyce articles as possible.

I also think [[Category:Todo]] would be a really good resource if you don't know what to write. Anytime I'm browsing and find an article that needs work, I add it, and it probably has plenty of shit right now. Mainly just stuff that needs to be revised.

One more thing is red links. If you see a red link, and you know something about what it links to, write an article about it.

I had an idea for a template yesterday, but I'm not sure how much use it would see. Figure I'll at least toss the idea out there, though.

I could make a template for linking to posts by Tumblrinas with a tendency to change their urls, so that broken post links can be fixed by just changing the template.

Like, Template:Vade (or whatever) would be something like [http://razkin.tumblr.com/{{if:postid=yes{{post/{{{postid}}}|}}}} {{{1|Vade's tumblr}}}] (disclaimer: I haven't used if in ages and can't remember the proper syntax off-hand, so the previous code is probably wrong), then when they inevitably change from "razkin" to "autistictwilightsparkle" or whatever we just need to change that in the template and not in whatever links would be scattered around the wiki.

But I'm not sure if it would see much use since I assume screenshots and archive.md are preferred due to the DELETE FUCKING EVERYTHING factor?
