Overview:
This couple is an absolute trainwreck in progress I found over on /snow/ who've earned themselves 5 total threads over the span of just 2 months. Several pets died during the making of this thread thanks to Tay and Jon being awful pet owners. Rest in Peace to one of her hedgehogs, a kitten, and Hannibal the leaf insect.

Taylor Nicole Dean / taylorndean is a youtube star with around one million subscribers who is known for having several dozen animals under here care, including exotic specimens such as an Axolotl. Her motto is "Adopt, not Shop", though detractors have found indication that she does indeed shop from places like Craigslist to obtain her pets rather than sticking entirely to pet adoption.

She began dating Jonny Craig in recent months, which lead to concern from her parents due to his highly risky lifestyle choices because he's a druggie mooch who is frequently homeless when he has noone to leech off of. To repay her loving family, she chimped out at them on twitter and accused them of threatening her youtube career

She just keeps getting more animals

Also, Taylor is a massive spoonie/munchie case who complains about having "invisible illnesses" and non-specific joint pains.

Like all good cows she fancies herself an expert in her field, even though it's been proven through her pets always dying that she's not very much of an expert at all

Jonathan "Jonny" Craig / jonnycraig4L / "Daddy" is the frontman for a band called "Slaves" and former member of "Emarosa" and "Dance Gavin Dance". He is a scammer, moocher, and domestic abuser who has gone to rehab multiple times, been homeless for extended periods of time, and has even served a stint in jail.

Several ex-girlfriends have come forward with stories of him violently sexually assaulting them or forcing them to shoot up heroine with him.

His own actions on twitter don't do anything other than feed into his image as a violent, sociopathic asshole

One time he promised fans he'd get them macbooks, but the computers were never sent out and it is believed he spent all the cash on drugs.

He is currently on tour and says she will be joining him soon in Las Vegas.

And I got all of this just from a cursory glance, there's thousands of posts of content and discussion already on lcf about this horrorshow. These two both frequently tweet and Taylor is consistently uploading content to youtube about her pets, the rabbithole goes deeper kiwis.

And it probably has dead rabbits in it.

jfc I used to be subbed to her. After she hit a certain amount of subscribers, she sort of fell off the deep end. Like, she became more self-absorbed and was constantly talking about herself. It became less about the animals and more about the shit she likes and whatever. I thought she was pretty decently-educated about certain animals. She has a few videos about bettas and blue tangs that I enjoyed.
Hedgehogs and leaf insects don't usually live very long in general, so I'm not really surprised that they died. I'm just worried about the other animals. Her druggie boyfriend might sell them for heroin.

She always does care videos which make you think she's doing a good job but she always puts new things into her fish tanks it's no wonder they keep getting stressed out and sick. As long as you keep your pets in a stable environment they shouldn't be getting sick from any bacteria either. Like putting in new corals that she bought off an auction on ebay.

Hey, the idea of bringing your pet to a convention is cool and all, but there's a lot of people and noises and smells and it freaks them out. I've seen people bring their pets to conventions and unless the pet is a trained therapy animal, they're usually in prey-mode. As in: eyes wide, hunched over, looking for things that want to eat them. She owns a lot of prey animals, so the stress on those poor things must have been awful.

Why are they both verified?

It got to a point that anybody could get verified as long as you doxed yourself to twitter/Jack basically. But a bunch of people complained that Richard Spencer and some his nazi friends got verified so they suspended the process and took away Spencer's verification checkmark.

These two are vapid narcissists and so they applied to get a shiny checkmark for themselves.

Not to white knight her, but about the leaf insect issue in specific I wouldn't hold that against her too much. Invertebrates can be extremely frail and sensitive and even experienced keepers can have random, unexplained deaths. It could have also been old or ill when she got it.

The boyfriend thing though is beyond shady. Especially since multiple people are accusing him of abuse.

Honestly, A lot of the pets she gets are super tricky to handle. She had a whole video dedicated to talking about how her pacman frog's butt prolapsed and the surgery and care that had to go into that. The real issue (imo) is the very simple animals that she can't keep and the repeated behavior of animals just being given away or returned.

I mean, shit, the one kitten dying was sketchy but the second one constantly in a state of either being bloated or triangle facing to hell makes that entire situation entirely worse because it's a very real possibility she just didn't take care of either of them. And now she has the new ragdoll that she absolutely bought online and didn't adopt.

My point is she just preaches a bunch of stuff, can't take care of her animals properly and doesn't actually believe what she says and that's just the saddest shit to me considering i've seen a lot of younger kids in her fanbase who probably genuinely look up to her for advice and help with their exotic pets.
