Really love my mint tea, though recently I've heard from a few trusted people rooibos is good. If anyone has any suggestions I'd be happy to hear 'em.

I like a variety of teas I have my owns blends of few for health stuff (inflammation and what have you) but I love a good green tea and oolong as well. Interestingly enough I've that teas grown at a higher elevation tend to taste better, given my water, the temperatures I brew at, and my own sense of taste of course, I've also observed the same trend with coffee.

So, the following event occurred:

One of the teenagers who live in my house had a kettle on to make tea.
I walked into the kitchen to. get my dinner, and observed him come out of his room with a 14oz mug, toss a commercial tea bag in,, pour his water and immediately add 7 heaping teaspoons of sugar.
"Why would you drink that?"
"I like tea."
"With 7 spoons of sugar? No you don't. Might as well dissolve your sugar in hot water and drink it straight, thats what you're tasting."
"Don't gatekeep my tea."

The fact that I was unironically told not to 'gatekeep' was almost as infuriating as the affront in his mug.

Does not immediately beating him to death with the hot kettle make me a good person, or a bad. person?

Like OP I quite enjoy lapsang souchong. The forest fire smell is really comfy. Other than that, my I like a locally popular mix called Söderblanding with various fruits and flowers in it.
Got a bad habit of making it very strong and bitter though.

Generally I agree with you, but I have found that with a delicate Earl Grey, a few grains of sugar can enhance the fragrance. And I do mean 'a few grains'.
That’s a general rule of thumb with a lot of drinks actually. Sugar brings out flavors that would otherwise be muted or just masked completely just like salt does with food.

There's a teahouse near where I live that offers their own tea blend that's black gunpowder tea with sage. Served with a pinch of sugar (the only drink they add sugar to) to offset the bitterness of the sage. I also buy it by the ounce to make at home. Only problem with the place is that it's filled with goddamned hippies.

Runner ups include golden monkey (sourced from the same place, my wife's favorite), mint, and earl grey.

Can't beat Thai Iced Tea, even if it will give you beetus. I've never managed to make it taste the same as in restaurants though. Jamaica is also top tier.

Not sure if this counts, but I've been obsessed with a bubble tea shop lately. It's far away so I only get it when I go into town, but they have over a hundred different drinks. I could get one a week and take like 3 years to try everything...

My favorite so far is lavender green tea with those strawberry popping boba, and black sugar milk tea with tapioca.

If we're on the topic of "actual tea", I've found jasmine tea to be really good. Especially with apple.

Green tea with lemongrass is great. Tiesta Tea's "Lean Green Machine" is what I have on hand currently for that flavor.

Most of the time if I find myself wanting tea these days I'm going after my lavender Earl Grey blend.

If I just want it neat, english breakfast or jasmine depending on where I'm at. If I want something sweet I'll drink coconut tea with sugar and milk, or a generic black tea with some sugar and salt (it makes it taste like toffee.)

Oh, and as an american I'm obligated to slowly drink homemade iced sweet tea on hot summer days. But no lemons. Lemon in tea should be criminal.

I haven't really found a tea that I don't like. I drink everything from herbal to dark and strong black teas depending on how the mood strikes me. While I start the day with coffee, after one 32 oz mug, the rest of the day is on tea. After lunch, my favorite is a Turmeric and Ginger mix though, seems to make the rest of the afternoon better.

I've been drinking black iced tea from Steven Smith lately and it's really fantastic. I just ordered their Tahitian Green and I'm really excited to try it: "Riding a perfect wave of full-bodied Chinese green tea, this fresh taste of paradise lands with a splash of pineapple, peach and vanilla."
