Anyone who does not love tea is a barbarian.

What is your favorite tea?

Personally, I'd like to say some variety of Darjeeling, because so many teafags have preferences in this direction, but I honestly have yet to appreciate this variety of tea and its nuances.

I like the brutal power of Lapsang Souchong, a Chinese black tea smoked over pine wood. Drinking it is like smoking.

The best version of this tea I ever had was from Berry Bros. & Rudd. And it's virtually impossible to get in burgerland.
I am probably soft and a novice, but high quality green tea and lemongrass tea are my favorite, with cream of course.

Mah nigga. I drink mostly Darjeeling, to add to the thread where do kiwi's get their tea from? Personally I order most of my stuff from upton tea, good prices and great customer support.

I like Whole Foods' selection but not their prices, and Trader Joe's if there was one nearby. There's usually a little coffee/tea shop nearly anywhere, though.

My favourite tea of all time is a black tea called Daintree Tea. I like my black tea very strong, and Daintree doesn't go bitter the way other teas do.

When I go out to a cafe/restaurant I usually go for a pedestrian English Breakfast. It's harder to ruin it. The other day I decided to chance it and order some Earl Grey, and they stewed it. It was a terrible crime for a sensitive tea. Earl Grey is one of the most unforgiving teas IMHO. You don't drink it for the taste, you drink it for the fragrance. It's the only tea I drink with sugar, because I've found that threatening it with the sweet stuff enhances the scent. And when I say "threaten it" I mean a very, very small amount of sugar. Not even a quarter of one of those fussy one spoonful sugar packets.

I do drink a fair amount of green tea at home. I never, ever drink it at any commercial place that doesn't have a Japanese or Chinese person brewing it. There are Westerners out there who can make a gorgeous green tea, but you have to go several dozen different places before you find them. The rest just make it like it's black, too hot and stewing it as well. The two that are my favourites right now are Oz Ingredients Victoria Highland and Green Lemon Myrtle. The lemon myrtle one is sensitive even by green tea standards. You almost have to hunch over it with a thermometer and a stopwatch.

I've a couple of teas that I bought at a market. One is jasmine, but I have no clue what the other is. When I bought them, they were weighed out into bags on the spot and fucked if I can remember what they were called. That second one is sensitive as well. I'm certain that it was grown to be bitter, and bitter teas can be difficult to get right.

I also have a few scented scented teas from T2. Arctic Fire, Blue Mountains and Perth Breakfast. Arctic Fire is very strong, almost to the point of being a straight herbal tea. Blue Mountains is similar but not nearly as strong. Perth Breakfast is very 'meh'.

I once tried Bushells Australian Breakfast. It was with some trepidation because Bushells tea in general tends to be extremely rough. And there was only full one hundred sachet boxes there, so I couldn't just by ten. And when I tried it, it wasn't rough. It was like drinking a sandpaper milkshake. Half my taste buds committed Seppuku right there and then, while the other half legged it to the nearest hospital, howling that they'd been poisoned and needed admission to intensive care. Moral of the story: Don't drink Bushells tea. Ever.

I'm not a great fan of herbal teas, and I can't drink chai because too much cinnamon makes my mouth burn for whatever reason.

It's been ages since I had Oolang, but I've already way too many teas already, and adding more would effectively be hoarding.

Also, loose leaf all the way. The stuff that goes into the sachets is the broken leaves that fell on the floor before they milled the high quality leaves for loose leaf. And needless to say, it's also much, much cheaper.

3 ways for me)
1) Hot and with 2 tsps. Sugar.
2) Cold and green.
3) Cold or hot and half-lemonade.
Although I am up for trying some different stuff, every now and then.
You know the 3rd one is just called an Arnold Palmer right?

I tend to bounce back and forth between Earl Grey and Tetley black. I import the British blend because the American one doesn't taste right. Make the latter as strong as possible, with a bit of milk. No sugar.

Orange spice tea is my absolute favorite, it tastes a bit like hot cider but not as heavy. I'm more of a coffee drinker but if I ever run out I love a cup of lady grey in the morning.

Green tea here. I've had chai a few times, which was excellent, though it's tough to find chai that is both decaf and not horribly full of calories.

For everyday easy tea, PG Tips is pretty good and then when I want to feel refined and go through the hassle of making a pot Whittard of Chelsea has loads of really interesting varieties of loose leaf. Russian Caravan was particularly nice.

Green tea is an abomination.

Pg tips is aight, but yorkshire tea is really where its at.

Milk goes in first, always. Anyone who says otherwise is a braindead idiot.
Then the water has to be boiling when it hits the teabag.
Dont touch it for at least 5 solid minutes.
When the brew is strong enough that you could stand up a spoon in the middle, then remove teabag and sweeten to taste.

Chai is king. I always wanted to make noon chai but I always forget about it until I drink regular chai (which is not often).

my go to is usually green tea with peach or sometimes chamomile. Lately I've been drinking pumpkin spice tea because I'm a basic bitch who loves pumpkin spice everything. I don't like adding anything to my tea because unless it's chai it just ruins the flavor

also I had hibiscus tea at some restaurant once and that was amazing

I adore the Mighty Leaf Jasmine spring tea. Very light flavor, not bitter. Awesome tea, but pricey.

Also, Brown roasted rice green tea.

I've tried a few different rice teas, green and black, and really just didn't like them all that much. Is there a proper way to brew them?

I've tried one Russian Caravan, forget who it was made by, but it tasted like I was trying to eat wood ash. And salty for some reason, I don't know why. I drank half a cup and then tipped it down the sink. It was pretty awful.

I used to brew tea with milk already in and I could never get it right. Steeping the tea first and adding the milk afterwards works the best. Do you warm the milk first or anything like that?

Honestly, I just throw the tea leaves and Crud in a wire strainer, boil the water, and toss it all in a pot. Then enjoy! I do find that the bitterness increases the longer it steeps, so maybe try drinking it after about 1 min steeping, and go from there? It may be an acquired taste, but it is so good I love it! Also worth a try, Green Tea Ice Cream. awesomely tasty!

If you like Russian Caravan's smoky flavor and wish it were more so, just get lapsang souchong, the source of the smoky flavor. It's a strong black tea smoked over pine wood.

Nope, just fill the mug with about 3/4 of an inch of milk before you put the water in. The tea can look a little anemic at first, but you just have to make sure the water is hot as fuck and leave it for a good long while. It'll turn the rightcolour eventually
