EDIT: Take this with a very tiny grain of salt but word on 4chan is the bots are the work of a troon. Would not even surprise me.

I've also heard accusations of the bots being the work of a brony. Sometimes I hear a furry. I don't know who's really behind it but the general concensus is that some degenerate got anally aggravated and now wants to ruin everyone else's fun.

It seems like it's obvious but I've seen tons of people not realize it; keep the laser sight off of walls and the ground by hovering it around either ledges above or below who you're aiming at until you can strife into their head range and pop them that way. Whenever you're scoped the enemy is going to be able to see where you're aiming at by the team colored dot against the wall.

Used to play the absolute shit out of this game. The base jumper getting nerfed cause some youtuber couldnt hit an airstrafer with a rocket was weirdly what killed my motivation to keep playing. It was akin to them making something like demoknight completely useless in terms of gameplay sins for me. I still played every now and then, but A few years ago something in an update broke my game and I had to reinstall steam because it kept acting like I wasnt connected to steam till I deleted and redownloaded basically everything. There was no info on this bug and I think some people are probably still stuck in this situation. I played every now and then until like a year or 2 back when they completely made all scouts projectiles completely unviable and a direct downgrade, more than likely due to the really hard to pull off but rewarding stun/gullotine combo getting complained about by some fucking e-celeb. The worst shit is how they nerfed base heavy so he's just not fun to play as half the time. You're just either a slow moving easily killed target or a mildly less slow marked for death big easily killed target now, because pretty much all his alternate glove weapons either slowly kill him or mark him for death now.
This bot shits really been also just keeping me from playing. Didn't even touch scream fortress this year shit sucks. Wouldn't be surprised if it was some "respected community member" behind it. wouldnt be the first time shit like thats happened with a game.

I'm out of my ass tired right now and I've been just thinking about this game in this fucking weird stupor I'm in. I really wish there was like some way to customize/roll back how certain weapons work with how much shits been fucked with, but I know valve is never gonna add a fun feature like that with their current mindset.

Yeah, according to a user earlier in this thread a youtuber by the name of "Funke" was one of those "Competitive TF2 players" that complained about the weapons and such not being balanced along with others. As a result, the weapons are either no longer fun to use or they've been nerfed to shit. And, to add insult to injury, those same youtubers later moved on from TF2 to do Twitch streaming.

When they put it like, that it's no wonder that they hate them so much.

Never knew Funke played competitive.

I did however, know that he bitched about certain loadouts.

I really wish there was like some way to customize/roll back how certain weapons work with how much shits been fucked with, but I know valve is never gonna add a fun feature like that with their current mindset.

It's possible to play with the old weapons if you run a server with the custom weapons plugin. You just undo the nerfs manually. I know the /v/ party van runs this plugin and they reversed the spy nerfs from jungle inferno among other changes.

I guess you can call him casually competitive? I don't think he was ever that deep into the competitive scene but in his analysis videos he sure tried to seem like he plays more, but they just came off like average game analysis videos with a tang of comedy

i think one of the reasons that older tf2 youtubers are more appealing than current year ones (or current year -2 or 3 since they mostly quit) is because they played the game for fun and made silly fun content, or did just chill gameplay videos. when you start getting “professional” tf2 players making videos and telling you exactly what you should be thinking, that is when they started to go downhill. I have seen this trend with a lot of newer people, specifically like uncle dane. Yeah buddy you’re good at the videogame, that doesn’t mean your suggestions are law and your word should be taken as gospel. I just hope that some of them are self aware enough to realize that about themselves, even if their followers don’t

anyway. they added 4 new smissmas maps. they're basically treating it like scream fortress now.

SnowFall (Capture the Flag) it's a winter themed version of Landfall. with christmas gifts in place of the intelligence briefcases.

SnowVille (Player Destruction) it's a winter themed version of Sawmill

and Wutville (Payload) an original map. it's looks similar to whoville from how the grinch stole christmas.

and Holiday themed hats and cosmetics were added.

but there are no contracts. what a shame.

splurged a bit on this update, new unusual effects look nice (managed to snag a divine desire shoestring santa from the community market, it looks awesome, and I unboxed 2 unusual taunts). i love the engineer tractor taunt. the hats are generally good as well.
wutville is a very red biased map, pier is pretty blue biased (except for the 3rd point which can be very easy to defend), snowville is a fun game mode and snowfall is a nice reskin. wutville has tons of bugs that should be fixed and generally redesigned if they intend you to take the game seriously while playing, but other than that its fun enough.

i am actually enjoying playing casual a bit more recently, i didn't play much after MyM but with friends its nice. almost every match you get into will be great, otherwise you can just requeue until you find a good one.

playing scout and spy more often, i used to play them a lot but stopped a few years back. my aim is still alright with scout, and i'm still an average c&d spy. think i've lost my touch with sniper, can't land shots like i used to.

tf2 also hit a player peak this week, 146,000 in one hour.

everytime they release a new map there is something broken with it everytime. on wutville you can go under the map so easily that, hypothetically if I were a bad actor, I could do a lot of damage (which I certainly did not do). Did the wutville exploit myself, it got boring almost instantly. What I find funnier is the method of getting out of the map, if you look at the clip brushes it’s like the author almost did it intentionally
