Honestly I could actually kinda see them abridging OG Dragonball. I've seen talk about OGDB being remade and I honestly think that based off their attitude towards the Cell Saga, TFS would be pretentious enough to think that they would be the best ones to "remake" OG DB for modern audiences via abridging it.

Dragonball Abridged would actually come out more censored and less funny.

Wasnt the sole reason Toei jumped on their asses waa because they went "Hey! Lets make shirts with these copyrighted characters and not just advertise em on our chanell, but sell em at a know site" and the rest of the peanut gallery went "Hooookay!"

That didn't help, but I feel it was more because they took one of their esteemed properties and added jokes to it.

I personally think Toei also thought of them as an unofficial dub for their product which is more likely, and it didn't help that TFS tried to take themselves super seriously.
