When did this exactly start, anyway? I don't remember comic Batman fans shitting themselves in rage over the Adam West TV Batman, even though it was goofy and campy. I also don't remember any Adam West Batman spergs losing their shit over the new dark Batman.

The latter I can believe, but the former... not so. The Batman comics were about as campy as the show was. What's serious about Batman becoming a baby, or having to wear a different colored costume every night?

NOT ALL CARTOONS ARE MEANT TO BE SUPER-DEEP OR TAKEN SERIOUSLY. SOME ARE JUST MEANT TO BE SILLY AND THAT’S PERFECTLY FINE.

If anything has clouded the minds of people these days, it certainly not just nostalgia. It’s their constant and pointless desire to compare everything they see to the heartfelt and progressive shows we have now. Nothing against those shows, since I love Steven Universe and Gravity Falls, but every once in a while, you need to unwind with a show where the only feels you get is laughter. That’s where TTG and many other misunderstood cartoons these days come in.

BTW, there have always been cartoons with mean-spirited comedy and no real morals. Looney Tunes? Tom and Jerry? Ren and Stimpy? Ed Edd n Eddy? Invader ZIM? Billy and Mandy? All these and more pull almost the exact same shit you’re getting onto TTG for. I swear, if those classics were completely new shows that came out this year, YOU WOULD DESPISE THEM. Yet because you grew up with them, you see them as classics that shaped your childhood. THAT’S the kind of hypocritical, double-standard, nostalgia-blind bullshit this episode was calling you all out for.

What makes your reactions to it even worse is that they were just being their normal, jokey, not-at-all serious selves during the whole episode, and you STILL see it as an insult. Even if TTG was intentionally snapping back at its critics, I don’t blame them. The original post is only a pinch of the uptight hatred lobbed at the show. Honestly, I’d fight back too, but mostly because of how you people act when expressing your displeasure.

The writers of Teen Titans Go! are NOT treating their audience like idiots. YOU people just forgot how to take a fucking joke.

Because they're incredibly sensitive and can't stand it when one person is mean to another in a TV show, no matter what the circumstances, no matter if we're supposed to hate the guy.

Most 'toon spergs tend to be oversensitive (Think of how much salt flows over the bully My Little Pony characters.) Plus, some of them are fans of He Who Shall Not Be Named, and 'mean spirited' is one of his usual criticisms.
