The only reason I'd want to go to Bisbee is to see Doug Stanhope before he inevitably dies from total organ failure.

I'd gone to several minor league games before i realized the guy loudly heckling everyone in an ugly suit was Stanhope. He's really nice, I bought him a hot dog and a Gatorade after he spent ten minutes loudly roasting my brother at a game

I love how he wears the ugly suits even when he's not on stage. He seems like one of the few older comics who hasn't sold out or lost his edge, and it's good to hear that he's a nice guy.

Find a small town that's more than 2 hours away from the nearest "large" city (read: two hours or more to a Costco) - but try to be within 30 minutes of an interstate. Best of both worlds, really.

Yep. Thats about my situation and I highly recommend it. When the governor and mayor were freaking out about the roni and making laws, the local PD and county law enforcement were straightup making Facebook posts saying "We're not enforcing any of this shit, go about your lives"

Hijacking the thread to ask if a wandering brit/euro fag could find a home in the US. I have a dumb specialist niche job, can't drive, deaf, white, gay, fairly conservative, boring. Had to refuse a job offer in Washington recently. Florida was kind to me in the past but the climate tried to kill me.
I like the coast :) . Would learn to drive if needed.
Small towns aren't great for deaf people, unless you can get by without much accommodation.

The Pacific NW (Washington and Oregon) would be well suited for a Brit since the climates are pretty similar. Seattle is an overpriced trash heap of a city and Portland's currently overrun by Antifa retards, but the latter is preferential. I might be biased since I used to live in the area, but it's really quite nice considering the plethora of outdoor activities you can do, the great food and coffee, and even a vibrant gay scene (and to top it all off, a very small black population). The small towns are very comfy as well and the people are friendly to a fault. Outside of NYC, DC, Boston, etc you're really gonna need a car since the land of the free was designed more for cars than people, but I doubt you're going to be any less worse of a driver than the average Asian female.

Vega, Texas. Absolutely nothing for fun expect going amarillo, but a perfect staging point to hit up National Parks. Plus easy to get your drivers license at the dmv in town.

Been on the road a few months ago. Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas is essentially small pools of civilization surrounded by miles upon miles of desert and badlands. Outside of the obligatory Wal-Mart or local thrift store, there isn't much in terms of electronic products. Do your research on what's nearby to avoid driving 2 hours from Van Horn to El Paso for an replacement quality laptop.

Anything West of Junction isn't really Texas, but a desert buffer state we annexed to keep the Injuns at bay. It's Inner Mongolia.

The Green side of Texas is full of lovely small towns and shitty small towns and giant cities and giant cities populated by people who think 300,000 is a small town.

Solvang, California is pretty nice. The whole place is clean and looks like this.

I wonder if everywhere is like my hometown. To new people and visitors, it seems like a quiet, sleepy, safe town. If you're from one of the old families, you have to know what stores not to shop at and which neighborhoods not to go in after dark. If some rando was walking through, they'll be fine, but if you have the wrong last name...

In all fairness, I barely went east of Austin and San Antonio.

Are they okay with conservative Catholic blacks moving in?

I am far from the first to notice how rural Southern whites will say incredibly racist shit about black people as a race, but have many black friends and family members who "don't count." Meanwhile, urban whites will wince if you so much as say "Jigaboo," but they don't know any black people and cross the street to avoid black grandmas.

I won't presume to speak for which form of racism is better to live around.

I'd been to Pasco, WA several times in the past (the last time I visited the town was a year ago) and memorized it as a nice, measured place. Dunno how the town is doing today, but I think better than 60% of other US cities. To be honest, if it were the 2000s, I would definitely recommend anyone to move to Spokane Valley, WA, but nowadays this city turned into a hot spot of sharply growing crime, which is completely absurd for a suburb with a high amount of white residents.

Kalamazoo, Michigan isn't what I'd call a small town but it feels like one as much of the population there is good Dutch stock so many people are extremely polite and otherwise Mind Their Business. There's a lot of farming but there's a decent urban center as well. Unsure as to the political climate as it is home to Western Michigan University but for the most part save for Grand Rapids the west side of the state is reliably conservative (if such things matter to you). I've lived in many places in the world and western Michigan is without doubt the nicest overall and easily the place I would choose to live over all others.

Prep for snow. Lake effect weather hits often. Worth sucking it up though because the autumns are glorious. Vermont ain't got shit on Michigan autumn.

I have friends whom I often visit in Vermilion, Ohio. It's a beautiful, spotlessly clean town that sits right on the coast of Lake Erie, 15 minutes from Sandusky (home of Cedar Point), 30 minutes from Cleveland. It's filled with beautiful ports and nice beaches. Population is just over 10,000, 96% non-hispanic White, 0.3% Black. Crime is virtually non-existent.

I want to live there.
