So if no one knows about this game it's pretty much a world builder with more of an rpg element, you can harvest ores and minerals to build your houses/fort/towns, you can make weapons and armors, you can explorer dungeons and other things.

Recently the game released a huge update which added alot of things to the game and balanced it.

The fun of the game is building a town from the ground up, but sadly alot of servers are already prebuilt and it's meh, so was wondering if anyone else played it? we could organize groups for it to play and make things.

I have it, and I'd play it with you guys. It's pretty cool.
But Starbound is superior.
The benefit here is that Terraria is actually FINISHED

I like starbound but the servers are sadly shit at the moment, we had one here hosted by Null and it kept going down all the time. Also the game updates all the time and can actually break mods and characters which is quite annoying, I don't know if I have you on my steam, I think I do, if not pm me your details

I too like Starbound but unlike that game, Terraria is actually finished as ShavedSheep said.

If there is one thing I may as well try when playing the game: Build an underground base. When the Wall of Flesh is killed and blood moon comes in, hopefully my town/village of NPC's doesn't get killed by ghost and living armors.

Well we could make a small group of people and have one host the game or somehow find someone that has the ability to buy or host it themselves. If I didn't have money problems I would just put one up.

There's a trick. Build your town on the snow biome, because after hardmode starts, snow biomes don't get converted to holy/demonic and become fucking deathtraps.

@Gaol Also, my internet is the tits, I could try to host at some point.

The last steam sale I actively followed Terraria went on sale near the end for 2 dollars Canadian. Of course at this time I was so poor I couldn't even spend 2 dollars on a game so I passed

I pirated it like at the end of the first semester and I got damned far within 2 weeks right before exams. And I restarted so many damn times and I even got the Terra Blade. But yeah, I think I'd like to do it legit, if what you say is true and there's a lot more added.

Terraria got updated. They're doing a crossover update with Trendy Entertainment's Dungeon Defenders 2. (A Free To Play Tower Defense Indie Game that I'm a fan of.)

They included a new army boss. the Old One's army. It's enemies from Dungeon Defenders 2
A new type of currency: defender medals from DD2. You get them from completing waves from the old one army.
A new NPC: the tavern keep from DD2: he will sell you an Eternal crystal for regular coins. But he will sell you armor based on the Squire, apprentice, Huntress, and monk (The Main Heroes from DD2), furniture from DD2 (like the war table and banners from the game), and staves that summon the 4 heroes' defenses from DD2 for defender medals. (They function like the staff of the frost dragon)
New weapons that drop from Betsy (The First Boss from DD2) on the last wave: the weapons that you get from beating her in DD2.

In DD2, they added the dryad as a playable class, and some weapons from terraria are usable like the Terra blade,

They added a map based on Terraria called the forest biome,
A new incursion called night of the blood moon. You fight the eye of chthulu as a boss.
I tried out both content on both games and I loved them. I consider this one of the greatest video game crossovers ever, possibly better then street fighter X Tekken.

Bumping this old ass one page thread because Terraria is great and "Journey's End" is being released next week with a whole bunch of new shit.

I'm most excited about NPC towns. There's two shitty new NPCs, a furry and a golfer, but more interesting is that they have happiness and will have requests for their homes, what biomes to live in and what neighbors to have. 3 NPCs living together will form a town with decreased spawn rates and unique town music, and if you do what they say shops are cheaper and you get pylons to teleport to their biomes. I've always liked Terraria because of the the idea of turning the map into something like a little RPG world, which this patch/expansion? actually encourages.

Aw yeah, I love Terraria. I finally got another reason to boot it up again. Frankly I'm still surprised it's still getting updates, it has a ton of content for a $10 game. I paid full price for me and my buds and that was money well spent.

I've been marathoning Terraria for the past week, since I lost my old worlds when I upgraded my computer. Right now I'm trying to take down Plantera, who is much harder than I remember.

Edit: also starting from scratch in Expert mode is a painful experience. Would not recommend.

Me and my friends have never finished the game and have spent a week or two clawing through it on expert, is been harder than expected but we wanted to finish it before the new stuff

Personally I'm excited for master mode and the challenges ppl will make with journey mode
