TFW2005's Movie Worshipers - Michael Bay can do no wrong for these folks -

Been sitting on this for a long time, but with recent developments I feel the lid can now be taken off.

The trick here is that in monitoring TFW2005's section of the Transformers fandom, is that not all of them are bad - indeed, there's more then a few good eggs still in there.

However, more and more, the place has been infested with people who worship the goddamn ground on which the Transformers films were made and to question their quality is in their eyes the same as being a heretic in the Warhammer 40K universe.

I mean seriously, one of the most "outspoken" of the lot claims to understand that the most important thing of Revenge of the Fallen (the second one) was...the largest robot's ballsack joke.

http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/trans...09-devastators-wrecking-balls-core-movie.html

and then you get such lovely morons like this who go apeshit at implying the films are even flawed in any way when compared to other films

A note on the latter: "Lord Tron" has blown up over people saying that any TF film is far inferior to basically any marvel film to date (particularly Guardians of the Galaxy) and more recently just fucking rants against The Force Awakens, claiming it's a putrid pile of shit even though I highly suspect he also refuses to watch it to have an informed opinion.

Will have to dig up even more horrible examples, but the time to share this raw autistic shitstorm is nigh.

I've said it before, and it bear repeating. But I'm never going to get over the fact that someone decided to make a topic about a poorly done testicle joke. And claim it to be the most important aspect of said film. And then try to connect that with the other two humping jokes in that film and claim that it's becuase "DECEPTICONS ARE DOMINATING THE PLANET LOL!"

I also love how half of the replies are just the other members questioning why this needed to be a thing.

More idiocy thanks to Lord Tron

Since it's actually not a fucking super long wall of text, I'll quote it.
Wow and you people say movie fans are thick headed everything you have complained about i have already explained repeatedly only for all of you to once again ignore it. Everytime I or someone like me presents a defense that more often than not disproves a lot of what you say you people just ignore it and continue acting like nothing has changed well newsflash, EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED! TF 4 is not TF 2, it has very few of the things people complained about in that movie, yet it is stated again and again that each movie is the same.

Right, a conspiracy on Earth, some ancient Cybertronian artifact and a big battle in the ending. If that's the same movie than nearly every sequel is the same, going by that logic, A New Hope and Return of the Jedi are the same movie. Going by that logic Spiderman and Spiderman 2 are the same movie, yet no one says this so why does this only apply to transformers?

All of these complaints, mooks aren't threatening, henchmen aren't developed, bad humor, certain characters are underdeveloped, apparently only apply to transformers despite the fact that they exist in nearly everything else. You talk about the writing being awful and point out all these flaws and plot holes yet this could easily be done to any movie.

For example ANH a classic. Why can't the stormtroopers aim after the opening, Why doesn't Luke react to his family being slaughtered, Why doesn't Leia react to her planet being destroyed? Leia knows the Empire is likely tracking her yet she decides to go back to rebel base anyway, why? This is beyond stupid and threatens the entire rebellion. The rebels know the Deathstar is coming why not abandon the planet, you can still do your attack but you don't have to be on the planet. You don't have to risk literally everything on this battle. It's stupid, it's not believable and it's boardline suicidal! Another example the Death Star blowing up should by all logic eradicate Yavin completely, heck the sheer gravitational pull of something that massive would tear the planet apart.

See easy, you pick apart the movies with ease accuse them of having all these plot holes but in truth it's no worse than most other franchises, the only reason you noticed half of them is because you try to, because you are looking for them, and well if you're looking for them of course you're going to find them.

I don't know who's worse - the GEEWUN crowd or this lot. I thought the whole hardcore Transformers fanbase hated these movies. To hear not only that that's not the case but there's a thread analysing the deep meaning behind the robot balls joke is just beyond belief.
Don't forget, he's trying to tie said nuts into the plot of the film. Which makes it all the more unfortunate.

It's people like that that have too much time on their hands and a very active imagination. Reminds me of a guy on the IMDB board for "Lost in Translation" who was convinced it was a scfi-fi movie and everything about it was an allegory for Bill Murray's character dying and Tokyo was where he was to set everything right with his life before he heads out to heaven.

The beauty of art is how it is that you interpret it. Looking for deeper meaning in a fucking Michael Bay movie is just pure distilled autism.

but when will they be mocked by us?

Originally, I made a thread about one particular individual - LegoTFGuy - that got some action, especially when one of his white knights showed up, but then almost as soon as things got good, they just dried up. Even his tumblr is super-not-special anymore by just posting memes all the time and that shit ain't worth investigating.

TFW is hard for me to stay on top of because the mods tend to clean up all the shit before I get wind of it and can investigate. Plus, it's the movie forums alone that are the exceptional breeding grounds - the rest of the site is rather tame in comparison.

To be honest I've never run into anyone who liked these movies, and I think the latest one had about a 14% rating on Rotten Tomatoes; but then again there are Sonic fans who actually like the 3d games such as "Sonic Boom", so I'm not all that shocked.

For what it's worth, Michael Bay even basically admits his movies are bad but doesn't care because he claims his target audience is teenage boys.

If there's anyone older than 11 years old who thinks these films were "good" or even intended to be good then that's just sad.

Michael Bay's own words in response to his haters were something like "I make films for 14 year old boys, wow, what a crime...". So the director himself admits his films are just cheap entertainment and not meant to be 'artistically analyzed" in any way.

What do people who buy a ticket to see a Michael Bay film think they bought a ticket to see, Citizen fucking Kane or something? If you buy a ticket to a Michael Bay film and then it's a Michael Bay film, you got exactly what you paid for.

Just to continue coverage, there's this one guy who is desperately trying to get somebody to tell him if some new character dies in one place or another.

https://kiwifarms.net/threads/legotfguy.7709/

All you folks need to know is that this character is a Decepticon and none of the Decepticons except Megatron survive the film. Again. The only reason this guy wants to know specifics is because he's obsessed with a character so minor he's not even getting a toy.

LOL What a bunch of losers. Michael Bay movies are this: Explosions and the guy gets the girl. There's more explosions. Some drama. A big explosion. The end.

From the sound of things, the latest film had a much-hyped 'Writers Room'...and from the leaks all that amounted to was basically stealing half the plot of "Transformers Prime Season 1".

Given how the previous film, with only one writer, had done the exact same thing by stealing a shitload of ideas and plot from "Transformers Animated," makes you wonder if the people even making these films are exceptional.

Well, I don't know about the writers themselves (since they apparently worked on stuff like Ant-Man and The Walking Dead), but it's possible that Bay himself might be given his explosion fetish and all.

How are they reacting now that the movies are not even financially successful anymore?

The majority actually snapped out of whatever delusion they had about the films being good and want a reboot just like any sane person in the fandom would (which sadly is unlikely given the factors in play).

There are still the idiots who think The Last Knight was once again a masterpiece, but the box office having done so poorly really took the wind out of their sails. I haven't seen anything worth posting, unfortunately.

Based on the title I thought it was a forum of obsessive fans of movies made in the early/mid 2000s.
