As has been mentioned in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2582&mobile=off , the reality of how Chris was perceived by his closest friends has finally (and undeniably) been made clear to him. Accordingly, his ego has taken a huge hit, with all of the requisite STRESS and crashing into slumber to inevitably follow. Nevertheless, when it comes right down to it, even if Chris will have to face the fact that he never truly 'liked' by his High School companions, could he ever look past that, and instead be grateful for the good times they did have, however brief they were?

Nope, because the "good times" he had then are not happening now.

Unless eating fast food and playing with plastic toys and vidya by himself are "good times."

Nah, he's just going to bitch on FB about how the twolls were planning a conspiracy on his highschool, he's still has the asspat squad, he somehow is going to fool himself to believe that he was the hot shit back in his high school days, and that those twolls were just jealous of him... if anything, this is just going to make him more paranoid, more sociopath, and more fucked up...

I don't think Chris is really capable of that kind of nuanced look at things. It would be ideal if he could see things that way, and recognize that his heartbreak was caused by his own delusions and the emotions he projected on those girls, but I think he'll only ever see the reality of things as a betrayal.

pretty much all he cares about is having all the good things come to him every single day for the rest of his life. the sad thing about Chris's he never remembers the kindness and good deeds people do for him, every time he feels good its only for that day and if he feels miserable He will recall all the past 'misdeeds' on him. he never felt grateful for all the good memories no matter how few they were Megan gave him. sure he made her a great super hero and his comics, but that was only to get in her pants. remember the time when he 'lost his virginity'? truly how long did that mirth actually last? the only reason why he had such fun memories of his high school is he believed that there were girls there who liked him and they could be potential sweethearts. sadly he is his mother son, miserable all the time and an amazing grudge holder for the smallest things.

Tl; dr even if Chris had an amazing life he would still find things to complain about be miserable about

If so, then in addition to being really sad, what else would he do? After all, since his time at MHS was easily the happiest in his life, wouldn't he want to cling to any sense of positivity he could? Really, lord knows his cognitive dissonance is strong enough...

Betrayal? Please elaborate, as I'm a little lost

I meant that like, instead of realizing that they were doing a good thing by being his pity friends and protecting him from bullies he'd see it as some kind of deception, as in they were pretending to be his friends out of cruelty.

Sorry, I'm sleepy and not super articulate. (:_(

If anything, the latest Facebook post proves definitively that Chris is beyond help, beyond hope. He's crossed over the mental event horizon, and there ain't no way he's ever gonna get better.

Then what was the significance of this event?

Chris-Chan is gonna haveta find something else to sperg about. Once he's processed this latest bit of reality (and who knows how long that'll take) he'll cast about for another event in his life to obsess over. Maybe he'll go back to mooning over Sarah Hammer. Who knows?
