Thanks for the "similar threads" feature. -

  • Intermittent Denial of Service attack is causing downtime. Looks like a kiddie 5 min rental. Looking into some solutions.

The thread for SCOTUS nom Amy Coney Barret shows up as a similar thread in Amy Ramadan's. Aside from sharing the same name and both having too many damn kids-- not similar at all. Funny, yes; similar, no.

Won't be 100% effective, but depending how much you post and how many new threads you post can indeed be a benefit. Adds value to the KF experience. 👍

Move the links to go back to the forums ABOVE the similar threads box please!!!!!! Scrolling all the way down past similar threads is a pain in the ass and slows down my rate of shitposts

This feature has potential, but needs a lot of work before it can be useful. The first thing it needs is a veto option (users rejecting a suggestion as "not really related"). I would like a "suggest similar threads" function, but it might look too much alike to the old "tags" system that Null thought wasn't being used appropriately.

You can probably block it with an adblocker.
I tried that straight away; was gonna add it to all the other stuff I've blocked on here but no joy, it still appears in every thread. At least that's the case with uBlock Origin, anyway. If anyone has success with a different adblocker, I'd appreciate a tip-off.

I think a simple up/down "was this thread similar" voting option would be good enough.

Looking at my 3 of own threads, since I'm already familiar with what would be relevant to them, I'd say it's not terrible for a first draft but relies too heavily on specific words in the title:

  • Assburger - lists the Mumkey thread, (a closely associated friend of his), the R9k killer thread (that definitely fits with the incel mentality/violence against women bit), two threads about people also named 'Brandon' (not great) and a Trump covid thread (complete miss).
  • Lilith Lovett - lists another tranny named Katherine (good), another cow with the name "Katherine' (unrelated outside the name), two more threads with 'Victoria' (Lovett's middle name) in the title (more misses), and that same Trump covid thread (another complete miss)
  • Elizabeth Anne Pelayo - lists two unrelated threads with 'Elizabeth' in the title, some unrelated tranny, another unrelated thread with 'Anne' in the title, and then this retarded spergatoried thread about Barb from a banned user. Not a single hit on this one.

Maybe weighing it in favor of threads from the same forum would help, I would definitely not let the system suggest Spergatory material.

I absolutely love the new features, but I think you need to check if the similar threads are viewable, I noticed when viewing a thread I was able to access the ADF forum once inside the sub-forum I could view all the posts inside it, and I noticed a few similar bugs but all in all it's a great feature. Thanks null!

Never mind, I found a better way to pick threads to necro :tomgirl:
