I doubt it will, all those soyboys are all talk, just like with their campaigns to "call out shitheads" wearing "questionable" band tees. I've never seen anyone actually do it IRL because the type of guys you see become uncomfortable when you show up to a show in a Burzum or Inquisition shirt look like they've never seen the inside of a gym in their life. I don't care about politics in my bands, hell I like Kreator a lot and they're a bunch of pussy fags using their clout to cancel shows in Germany.

IMO they were never that great, especially in the past decade, but have some good songs here and there. I'm glad Jon Schaffer put his money where his mouth is and followed through on his ideology he clearly expresses on The Glorious Burden or his solo album. Metal musicians being more than just image are rare.

There's like a dozen jokes about this you can make from the lyrics of this song.

Iced Earth would probably be some minor cool cult USPM namedrop if they stopped after their second album, but they kept going and ended up getting really, really bad. Schaffer seems pretty based though, I hope zog doesn't fuck him too hard.

I've been listening to Iced Earth a fair bit the last few days since this went down. There was definitely a drop in quality overall after Burnt Offerings, but I'm getting my enjoyment out of it. Main problem is that Jon essentially has one riffing style now that he pounds into the ground and a lot of the enjoyment comes from the vocals. The two Ripper albums are a good example. Framing Armageddon is way too long and the riffing is kinda faceless, but Ripper is pretty fantastic throughout, especially on The Clouding.

Have any of the people arrested been sentenced yet? I know the Metalcucks/MA crowd are slobbering over themselves hoping he rots in jail, but I'm honestly not expecting a whole lot.

I really liked Iced Earth, but I will agree that Jon never really changes his riffing style and the band wouldn't be half as interesting if they hadn't gone through the amount of vocalists they've had in the past. Their best album is The Glorious Burden, not only because of Ripper, but also because I think there was a bit of a change from Jon's usual style.

Metal-Archives has been cancer for at least a decade. The years when PhantomOTO was a moderator set a precedent where every resident leftist could collectively act hostile towards anyone remotely right-wing with impugnity. Even after he stopped being moderator, the entire board has only gotten more militantly left-wing each passing year. Seeing someone like Sedition and Pockets being able to regularly post tankie-tier communist think pieces with little to no pushback is no surprise.
