The Age of Adobe Flash is Coming to and End... -

I'm still calling it Flash

Because I don't wanna say to people "I use Animate", only to be required to further explain to them what "Animate" is, seeing as how if you don't put the "Adobe" in front of "Animate", people could be puzzled by what you mean. And I'm honestly too lazy to ever say the full name of an Adobe product, so while something like Animate certainly can catch on, at the beginning it's probably going to throw some people off.

So for now, I'm sticking with Flash.

People still use the ancient versions of flash to this day for advertisement/whatever due to: nearly every machine runs it, it's unsecured and has been used for nearly a decade. Flash has the interesting property that even a 10 year old animation can be played (like "You Kicked My Dog.") unlike some other programs.

It's not going anywhere.

I hate how they keep pushing the "creative cloud" DRM supscription service down everyone's throats. it doesn't help Customer service never sent me the correct code for the "student edition" of flash about six years ago, and never responded since.

As far as animation is concerned, I don't think Flash is going away in that regard either.

Anime like Space Dandy is made in part by animators who work almost entirely in Flash

Fucking Space Dandy
