When was this? If it was in the Golden Age atheist YouTube era I don't blame you. People also thought that Jon Stewart was a genius. Now in hindsight it should be clear that he actually made American political discourse worse, not better with he's cynicism. People now think that being cynical about politics and politicians but themselves not having any idea how they want to shape the future is somehow intelligent. Well it isn't. Everybody can criticize something, the question is if you can present an alternative that is better opr more coherent than the thing you criticize.

Democracy can be good to give power to the majority and weaken powerful minorities, on the other hand democracy is bad because it actually gives power to the majority and can weaken less powerful minorities. It's not just a north and south thing, although that's where the conflict has been historically. It's really between cities and rural areas. I've lived in rural areas in the north and south and besides some differences in vernacular they had the same views.
