I think they've used one of those Jurassic World raptor masks (made for kids to wear/play with) as a lazy base to get a moving jaw effect. I think the smoothness of it doesn't work at all with the furred parts, which is why it's so creepy.

Nothing about this works. Mammilian ears on a reptile? The fur is horribly bushy (learn to shave your shit!). The color and bow are just fucking gay. Feathers would at least be more believable. An all around abomination.
I mean there's enough out there where it could. There is good modding potential for dinomasks but... well I haven't seen many that look great

Might be a smidge powerlevel but i actually got this mask at a discount for puppetry and con. Has the jaw system and the lip curls, and the material peels off super easy. These were only for sale at spirit shops and ran $50 , then $25 after sale.
Tldr, spend the money on a better mech, work harder to mod it (coulda apoxied over the scales and redid them) or just worbla and make a copy, then match the mech for the articulation ffs.
The spirithalloween white wolf ones are notorious for being used as blanks by youngerfurs too. The only thing is, they aren't made for longterm use - The inside plastic warms up and there's some nasty fumes from it. The nose and jawset if I recall is molded right into the jaw, so that's something that would bother a lot of modders.
Those things just never seem worth it for the shoddy quality.
Took a look and found this vid on a mod if it. Seems that the gums and teeth do indeed come out, unike the horse. It looks like too much is crammed together tbh, most furry shit is more spaced out for breathing room.
Its been a minute since i looked over the mask i have but i am pretty sure that the top and bottom jaw mechs are removable via screws. It also a newer model so maybe I had the fortune of new methods. It is also a horse head so the snout area has some room. I am not a furry so it only comes out about twice a year lol. Never noticed any fumes, but then again i reworked it completely for puppetry and sculpting, so i can't say too much about that.
All that aside, there's $50 foam miscasts on etsy and tutorials on how to make movable jays, why dump that income on a shitty party store mask?
Like a few people were saying before; it's mostly kids on TikTok using those masks for "fursuits". Most of them probably bought dino masks instead of making their own base or buying better ones because it's a trend and will get them views.
After all, why spend time and money making something unique when you can throw about 30 bucks towards a party mask and craft fur and get attention for it?
It is, more often than not, minimum effort with maximum payout.

I'm almost positive Noble Wolf only got business because he was for a while the only game in town for murrsuits. At least the only game in town that was open about it. When you only have one option to shop for your weird fetish, quality seems to come second.
