I heard the Limp Bizkit cover of Behind Blue Eyes in a pub recently and I think it gave me cancer.

It's fucking awful. Why would a heavy metal band cover a song by the Who then remove the actual heavy section and replace it with a speak-and-spell?

I prefer this. It's not "good" as such, but I dislike the original song intensely so listening to Fred Durst vomit-scream it is slightly cathartic at least. Back in the days when Limp Bizkit knew they were a puerile adolescent joke band and didn't have so many delusions of grandeur:

The Rock Aid Armenia version of "Smoke on the Water" was a banger. Some of the best rock guitarists in history along with Ritchie himself playing that classic riff? Yes please:

I would say that she covered The Doors better than Jim Morrison too.

This is from an album that is labled "Various INTERPRETATIONS" - not covers - mind you. This is Tom Waits singing the Disney song "Heigh Ho" from Snow White. I love this version. What suprises me about this version I hosted a radio show 25 years ago and would get requests for this song from guys working in a kitchen... why??

I believe this qualifies as both the best and worst cover at the same time. Further proof, William Shatner is da man!

I may be late with this, but William Shatner's cover of Common People is pretty amazing. The album it's from, Has Been, is a real revelation, mostly because Ben Folds is a genius. It's not the gimmicky bullshit Shatner's earlier (and later) musical output was.

I would say that this album "Has Been" is 100% heartfelt and genuine Shatner exposing himself. The Track "It hasn't happened yet" would be proof of that sentiment IMHO.

When I was a kid watching a football game with my fam back in the 2000s, a Lincoln car commercial came on...

I was/am still a space nerd, so the OG song is an all-time favorite. Hearing this female techno-ish version in the early 2000s made me way too happy, haha. This song had a free MP3 download as well linked in the commercial. I still love this dumb song. 😎
