Has anyone ever reported CWC and/or Barb to anyone (even some organizations not affiliated with Virginia government) for gross neglect of their pets? By now it could probably be counted as borderline animal abuse.

This again?…
The problem is there is really no proof of abuse or neglect.

Another Chandler pets thread REALLY? As long as they are being fed and not beaten or raped or put into dog fighting matches a la Michael Vick then the state doesn't care. Being in a hoarded house is not considered abuse.

Legally, no, but it SHOULD be considered abuse. These animals are not getting their needs met as far as having a healthy life goes.

When it comes to living in filth and squalor, the dogs probably don't give a shit about that if it's been like that since they were puppies.

Dogs and cats really adapt to their surroundings. Not to mention dogs are naturally attracted to messes. It's very common for dogs to lay in the dirt and make messy trash even messier.

This is an old thread. There's usually a standard about bumping old threads, unless that doesn't apply here.

Personally, I think Chris falls under the category of "Chandler pet".

Even in the Chandler Pet hierarchy Chris would be Omega. Kitty Chandler is probably Alpha of the household.

No, no-one has ever thought of that as we are all bastards.

This is the case for most cat owners.

Regarding animal abuse, is there any evidence of this? I understand that living in that environment is unhealthy by default, but it's not as if Barb is keeping dozens of cats and dogs. There are only two dogs and... I think one cat? I haven't kept up with the Chandler's pets, so I'm not sure of the numbers, but even for someone like Chris their care should not be overwhelming.

Yes. Greene County doesn't care about the state of the house they all live in. As long as they don't have a fuckton of pets and the hoard doesn't present a health hazard to the neighbors, there's nothing stopping them from living among the garbage.

You know what is worse than living in a horde? Living in the wild, or being put to sleep by a shelter.
Living in the wild? Possibly. Being put to sleep by a shelter? Possibly not. Bob had insect bites when he died and it's only getting worse. That place is filthy. It's sad and unfortunate, but it genuinely could be better for the dogs to be put down by a shelter than to die from the conditions in that shithole.

Anyone know if the dogs (possibly the cats too) even go to a vet?
