We've had one too many threads crumble into a discussion about how dumb the Chandlers may or may not have been when plugging a coffee maker into an electrical socket. Anybody who would like to civilly hash out that issue may do so here.

But yeah, I've seen threads that had nothing to do with the fire fall apart into discussions about the differences between bathroom and kitchen outlets, the age of the infrastructure of the house, etc. Not that it's offensive or anything, but I don't want any distractions when I post my Chris's Favorite Brand of Tampon thread.

But why is that his favorite brand? Is it the wings? The absorbency? A personal recommendation from Barb?
Well Chris not knowing the difference between a socket in the bathroom and a socket in the kitchen isn't exactly mega retard level stuff here, I'll bet a lot of people wouldn't know any better.
The root of the issue is the circumstances that caused Chris to select that outlet, I think it's fairly safe to assume that the sockets in the kitchen that would normally be the first choices were inaccessible due to the horde so he went for one that wasn't blocked.... in the crapper!
Then there's the laziness factor, naturally he added an extension cord so he wouldn't have to walk far to get the coffee when it's done, and theres no doubt that there were other sockets that could have been used if he'd just unplugged whatever console power supply or personal electric device charger was in it.
Also we've seen from the house tour videos and photo's that the Chandlers seem incapable of switching things off when they're done with them or have left the room.
Conclusion; it was an accident waiting to happen and I'm surprised it took so long. They were also incredibly lucky to have got out unharmed.

The only place where there should be a coffee pot in the bathroom is at a motel. Most of the ones I stay at don't even keep 'em in there anymore...cuz you know poop germs.
